Bridgewater was a great college QB and a pretty decent pro QB. He has a promising career ahead of him. But dual threat, he is not. He doesnt run anymore than any other pocket passer in the league.
Jackson is a great athlete. He may yet be an NFL QB. Hes just a freshman. We'll see.
I tend to disagree with any proclamations of how great L. Jackson will be. He is fast, really fast, to be sure. However, I had the opportunity to stand on the sideline for 2 UL games this season (don't ask....) and both times I stood right next to the QB's as they warmed up. 2 things I noticed about Jackson:
1) He was shorter than I thought he would be. I am 6'1 and he was about my height with a helmet on and wearing football spikes. He is also very skinny, didn't have a lot of bulk on him.
and
2) Dude could not hit the broad-side of a barn in warm-ups. Seriously, he was just awful. He warmed up with Will Gardner and did not hit him in the numbers once. Every throw was high or low or off to he side....just terrible. Now, it could be that he was just fooling around trying to get his arm loose, or that he was pissed not to be starting that particular game (both times were Bolin games). However, he really didn't impress me much throwing the ball in games either, many of his completions were as a result of defenses gearing to stop his running......then he would just float one up there that his receiver, who was single covered, would come down with.
IMO, if Jawaun Pass does not end up flipping to Alabama we will see Jackson move to WR very soon after Pass gets on campus.
