If Stoops was gone

Let's face it, Coach Stoops is not going to be let go until after next year, and probably not then. I doubt they will extend his contract unless the team shows a lot of improvement, and a lot less screw-ups by the coaching staff. There have been enough the last two games to last all through next year. Coach Stoops seems to always be trying to catch up with the game, as evidenced by some of the glaring mistakes, which we've already hashed and re-hashed.
If he was let go, who would you want? NO, your not going to get Saban! Would you want a young coach who has been successful at a MAC school or some other smaller school? Had you rather get an OC or DC at one of the major programs, who is what we have now? Had you rather have a head coach who has not been overly successful at a major program, and had been let go?
I think the different answers will be interesting. My choice would be get one of the up and coming young coaches from a MAC school. They seem to groom a lot of good young coaches.
With this being said, I, and I'm sure most fans hope Stoop is successful. I personally think he is micro-managing to much. He needs to let his Coordinators do their job.
I won't even get in to why he took out Barker, because I don't think he knew.

No offesne to op. He isn't leaving. So this is just futilty planning at this moment. It's not healthy.

Blue, I realize he is not leaving. My first sentence says that. I was just wondering what type of coach most fans want if Stoops is let go. or moves on in a year or two.

Justin Fuente from Memphis. i've seen them play a few times this yr and one thing is for sure; he won't ice his kicker, fail to call a timeout resulting in a missed FG, i could go on and on....

Where is he going? We are not firing him hell we would owe him like 15mil. Also, typically you have to win for another school to want you as a head coach. Can't go 4-1 then go 0-6 to end your seasons and get another gig. Schools fire coaches that have records like that. They sure as hell don't go pluck one from another school doing the same thing.

In all honesty, it doesn't matter. This is the graveyard of coaches and the ceiling for this program is 8 wins in an incredible year, with most years ranging between 2 and 6 wins. So I would just ask for someone who doesn't embarrass himself on a weekly basis. Someone who understands clock management. Someone who understands when and when not to use a timeout. Someone who understands how to get the right personnel on the field in a timely manner. Someone who understands special teams are a pretty vital part of the game. Is that too much to ask?

He should have resigned after the game and apologized to Barker in process...that was a horseshit move

Fabcat, read the post instead of rambling about nothing.
