If this is our DT offer list, what are our chances?

Soloman is the top DT in Georgia this year and is a heavy UF lean right now unfortunately. He is a good player but he would have been about number 6 in the 16 class. Webb is probably number 2 DT in the state, haven't heard much about him. Don't know anything about any of the rest of them.

Spence will be tough but could definitely happen as his mom ran track at UK and is really pushing Kentuckg- mama knows best! I like our chances with Mullins and I think Bohana commits to UK in the near future

Bohanna is extremely likely to commit soon.
Spence we are certainly in the running.
Neil Farrell has good offers and we are in the top tier for him supposedly.
Provitt, if he can get his grades up, is a given.
Mullins is currently an Indiana lead, but if Marrow makes him a priority I like our chances.

Provitt didn't have a grade issue, his problem was test scores. 1 1/2 at a juco and he's home free ;)

Thanks for the list. It would be great to see the numerical ratings instead of the "three star" ratings, which almost all of our commits are since Stoops arrival, although we do get a few two and four star commits and even (Gasp) the first five star since they started having them. But it is extremely hard to get that kind of info with the format changes Rivals has inexplicably instituted, I have no idea how you access the recruiting, team, etc info that used to be a click away at the top of the page.

Is that now reserved for subscribers, or did it just disappear, and why can't you get any answers about that from the people that run the site? I think I will start a new thread about it, already a few gripes about the changes.

Go to recruiting and click on 2017 offers in the upper left. You can view all the ratings.

Click on recruiting then scholarship offers. That will for some reason take you to the Auburn site where you hit the team drop down box for Kentucky and another drop down box for the year you want. I agree with you that Rivals needs to finish up this unannounced change.

Thanks, much appreciated. A lot more info now.

Only one 5.5 in the group, only two 5.6s with five 5.7s, shows how much Stoops and Troops have elevated our recruiting, most of the DL recruits we were considering in the past would have been 5.5s------IF they were three stars. And the two 5.9s are better than average four stars also.

That seems like a pretty big number in one class to be running a 3-4 unless you are way down in numbers
I agree especially considering this class will be smaller. I could see 3 dlineman. Right now we have NT Elam Pringle Dubose Cross Hyde DT Meant Middleton Looney DE Miggins Bell KG Carter. I could see Miggins and Bell possibly playing the 3 technique. Miggins is the only senior in this group.

I don't know enough about the UK depth chart, but that's a lot of returning DL, I would think 2 would be a good class, 3 if you can get the right guy

We got a JUCO's NT that we really want back into the fold. We need a HS NT and dt and sde. We have good #'s but injury has a couple guys slow in developing. And we really only have 1 true NT on the team. Pringle is just big enough to help our there this year.

I understand that some of the guys at the position may not be developing as you hope they do, but its really tough to have 14-15 scholarship slots taken by 3 positions, thats 5 deep. Now if some of those slow developing guys are moving on for whatever reason thats a different story. I think we are going to have 10-12 DL on scholarship this fall. We did sign 4 but had missed on some guys the last couple years when they went somewhere else. 7 of them will be true frosh or true soph.

In our case the more understandable way for me to look at this hybrid defense that uses DE/DL/LB roles is we have 26 players for the front seven. That of course encompasses positions such as NT and ILB that remain essentialy the same no matter the defense called, but is the way I think of it with all the flexibility in the multiple defense.

That's one heck of a good way to apply the numbers, wish I had thought of it. I had to look to see what ours were, in the front 7 positions we have 25 removing the sr and adding the signees. Breaking it down again, 12 were DL and 13 were LBs. We are losing at least 4 LB off the 16 team so I imagine we sign a little heavy at the position.

Plus grump, we don't recruit like you do. Our guys are not going to be ready til rs soph or Jr years. We almost have to have 3 more guys on the dline than you big boys. Lol

We missed on our top DT this year, told the coaches he was coming Tue before signing day, in fact told 3 different sets of coaches, signed with AU. But the guys we got 2, 3, 4, 6 on the board.

I wonder how recruiting might play out if playing beside a future all-conference NT named Elam were the draw? Doubt that this will ever happen, but it would be nice.
