dfw, your opinion is based on nothing more than wishful assumptions. Couple that with you thinking it's impossible for Bob to be fired is actually concerning since that means you actually believe Bob is more important than the program. I mean if you are fine and content with Bob's teams in the past 3 RRR games, then that's on you. But you also the person who hinted earlier in this thread that beating Texas has lost importance to you. What self-respecting OU fan would actually think that way??

And I totally get that you have an unhealthy man crush on Bob. But don't expect everyone else to blindly drink the kool-aid like you do.

And whether fans of teams regret losing coaches or how old coaches are is completely irrelevant. The point is no coach lasts forever. Same with Stoops. One day he will be gone, and OU football will keep going. So my condolences that you apparently feel OU football lives and dies with Bob.

And btw...how is that search going for posts I've made calling for Bob's head?
You don't fire Stoops Saban or Meyer it's that simple. Bob will know when it's time to move on. It's really concerning you continue to talk about Texas since they are not the standard. I'm much more concerned the way Baylor has dominated Ou the last two years.
I know you have penis envy of Texas but wake up it's just another game on the schedule.

We will not beat TCU or Baylor unless we decide to go hit Boykin and Russell in the mouth. We can do it. Whether we will or not remains to be seen.

I'll be watching regardless, so no sense in me dragging players and coaches through the mud. Mike and Bob didn't forget how to coach over the last 6 or so years, but for some reason unbeknownst to us Lazy-Boy quarterbacks, the aggressive play isn't there.

Just a thought:

We should've beat TCU in Fort Worth last season, and IMO, last year's Frogs were better than this year's bunch.

I knew it.....Bob Stoops himself is posting on this board trying to talk himself up....

Dfw I think stoops is a good coach but no longer great. His resume as a whole is elite, but not now. Not in the last few years. It is what it is now

Usc is interested in Stoops that should tell you everything! The guy is coveted big time weather your small brain can grasp that or not

I get frustrated with Bob, but what frightens me the most about Sooner football is Bob coming to the conclusion that a change of scenery might be best for himself.

The big names in the game aren't leaving the likes of Ohio State and Bama to come here, and the others close to it aren't better than Bob.

Art Briles? To much risk.
Gary Patterson? TCU doesn't carry the same expectation and in that regard he's still untested.
Mark D'Antonio? He grew his program at a time when Michigan and Ohio State were down. Harbaugh is coming hard for him and Meyer.
Hugh Freeze? More hype than substance.
Kevin Sumlin? He and Johnny Manziel made Texas A&M "sexy" but what have the got to show for it? A Cotton Bowl win over us and an upset victory over Bama.
Mark Helfrich? Things are looking ugly quick in a post Mariota world.

Whether other schools want Bob Stoops or not tells me nothing. It's irrelevant. But since you clearly think there is something there, let me play it out for you. Say he takes the USC job, and has some subpar seasons and really doesn't get much accomplished in 2-3 years. At that point he is pretty much out of a job right?? Because USC isn't going to keep him as the HC indefinitely because of what he did at OU. Now, let's contrast that with your mentality of Bob at OU. You want Bob to stay at OU as long as he wants, seemingly regardless of what results we see on the field...just because of where Bob had the program 10+ years ago. And just to be clear, since Bob appears to be having trouble resurrecting the OU program the last 2-3 years, what fools gold are you banking on to where you think he could magically do it at USC in the same timeframe?? Your thought process here is really borderline on pure ignorance.....

See that's what is comical about your stance on Bob. You want to brag about Bob being named at other programs where he will be held accountable by his results. But I guess in your mind OU shouldn't hold it's head coach accountable for the same thing?? I mean I really guess you are happy with the state of the program right now because you sit around thinking about Bob's glory days in the early and mid 2000's??

And I'm still waiting on the results of your search in finding posts where I have called for Bob's head. And when are you actually gonna make a post that backs up your early claim of how you have apparently forgotten more about football than I will ever know?? I'm seriously still waiting on that. So far your posts reflect what a 10 year old could post. Maybe you can pony up enough money to get a premium membership and go over and put all the members over there that are calling for Bob's head NOW. Maybe you can impress them with your intricate football knowledge....cuz let's be honest....you are striking out so far on this part of the board.

When the day comes to replace Bob, I really don't think OU needs to go after a proven, household name. Look at Stoops. He wasn't a household name either when he was hired. He was a hot, upcoming name as a coordinator. Nothing wrong with OU taking that route again in the future, since it worked our pretty dang well for OU these past 16 years.

Well at least coaching at USC, Bob wouldn't have to worry about getting his team motivated to play Texas anymore.....

Bama fans get frustrated with Saban after one loss... Could you imagine if Ohio st lost to Michigan? Buck fans would lose there minds. Stoops will leave when the time is right and that's not after a few 8-5 seasons.
Texas would kill for a 8-5 season. Ou has a lot of delusional fans

Sometimes it works, but then look at Tennessee since Fulmer. How many up and coming hot shots have the Vols hired? Maybe Butch Jones will finally make the grade, but maybe not. Let's face it. It's a crap shoot. Pick your poison.

less than an hour later.........

So if Texas is not the standard, and would kill for an 8-5 season, then how do you come to the conclusion that OU should accept 8-5 seasons as well?? And does it not stand to reason that less than an hour after saying it's concerning that I continue to talk about Texas, YOU decide to talk about Texas??? LOL YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS KIND OF STUFF UP!!!!!

For the love of god man....it's becoming more and more clear that the person with a pea sized brain is the refection you see when you look in the mirror........

Stoops has owned Texas for 17 years he wouldn't be concerned about an irrelevant Texas program

Yep, he has won 10. So that's good regardless of the past few games, right? Question. Was is better that OU beat Texas a couple of times by scoring 60+ or worse getting beat a couple of times as a 16 point favorite?

EXACTLY!

That's what all these plug and play advocates chose not to realize.
Damn it!

It's not such a distant memory for me that we went through that horrible, awful time in the 90s.

I really can not take another episode of that ****.
Really, I can't. I won't.

I didn't say fans have to accept it. If fans really want to make a difference then stop buying season tickets. If you are a on the couch Ou fan shut up because you don't matter anyway

You want Bob gone it's obvious you think the game has passed him by

Like I've said before, or maybe you don't read very well, show me where I've posted that I want Bob gone?? You literally seem to have trouble comprehending simple English on here, but you still claim to have this incredible level of football knowledge, but you refuse to prove you know anything beyond making insults like a little kid.

Or maybe since you are such a high dollar OU fan with your season tickets, why don't you pony up a few bucks and get a premium membership and help me out in arguing with the people over on the pay board who DO want Bob gone immediately. But from what I see from your posting here, you wouldn't last 2min over there...they would eat you alive....

Kinda like what you post too right?? LOLOL Funny you talk down to others who live their lives through OU football, but you also talk down about anyone who doesn't pony up for season tickets to live their lives through OU football?? You really are looking like nothing but a massive hypocrite.

I mean why do you even come to message boards other than to talk out of your *** and insult people?? I'm guessing it's to feed your ego about yourself since you believe you have this unbelievable amount of football knowledge? We are seriously still waiting to hear you saying anything remotely impressive about football....let's hear it.
