No he didn’t downplay it from the beginning. He touted from the podium that nursing homes were doing a poor job of keeping the virus out while neighboring states were procuring test and USING them to protect patients and employees. He is a political mouthpiece, not a problem solver.

[laughing] A week for restaurants to comply with this super easy list of requirements. Bwahaha. What a damn joke.

I don’t see what the issue is. Restaurants can just operate over the phone and internet and have their employees telework per point 2.

Your first paragraph is spot on. Andy's propensity to criticize first and ask questions later makes him look really stupid. If you actually think critically.

He was quick to bash Bill Lee and Tennessee. How stupid does andy look now? They have fewer deaths and have tested triple the # of people and double the people per capita.

He was quick to bash business groups for asking why we were the only state shutting down certain types of businesses. Chiropractors were his favorite target.

Next he went after churches.

He's like a lot of politicians who fall into the trap of going into an echo chamber with those who support you unconditionally. It's obvious that there is no diversity of thought in his administration.
He is not exactly bright. You can be book smart but can be dumb as hell trying to combine book smart and common sense for a solution

Andy has been wrong when he's said that.

We've got huge swaths of our state with no "on demand" testing or drive up testing. Nursing home operators have asked for a month to test all staff weekly and were told no. Andy announced last week that we would test all nursing home workers "over the next two months". What a joke.
He is a damn fool. Kentucky needs an amendment we’re you can recall a governor

Andy can’t even publish guidelines for restaurants to reopen when all he needs to do is plagiarize another state’s guidelines. I would expect widespread testing anytime soon.
He is very good at following. Sure in the hell cant lead

Maybe he watched the new conference when trump said we were going to go from 15 cases to zero and believed him.
Maybe you have not watched but numbers of deaths are up in Nursing homes not general public. Last time I check the general public are the ones who make the economy run. By the way I like it when we have positives tests it means larger immunity herd means decrease hospitalization

So nursing home people don’t count?

Then what did you mean?
Last time I checked not many people who are admitted to the nursing home rarely are discharged resulting in them not affecting the general public. If they are discharged they discharged to an ALF or home with a caregiver.

Learn federalism dumbass.
Lol good luck with that, federalism...lol @Ed323232 didn't know what congress did a few months ago. He thought the president was all powerful. Its why he takes to heart when a guy is just riffing in the moment on unprepared remarks...it always takes it by heart bc he thinks the govt is all knowing.

I’m going to write to Andy and see if he can make all the fatties stay home so they aren’t taking up capacity in the restaurants with his arbitrary 33% limit.

Obesity is far deadlier than COVID, so when need to put in strict stay at home orders until people are cured. Hell, we can even just keep using the same “flatten the curves” ********.

I’m going to deem opioid users essential because I probably need some of them serving in restaurants.

An interesting question is when do some of these governors/mayors relinquish their new found power and allow their state’s government to operate as intended?

That’s not to suggest the SOE wasn’t and isn’t still needed. However, when is victory declared? Or at least progress within our society that we don’t need a select few people calling shots daily?

We get a second waive in the fall when school opens we could be looking at a full year of beers with Andy.

Also lol at Andy’s restaurant guidance. “Persons not living within the same household should not be permitted to sit at the same table.”

Yeah, ok pal.

WTF is Kentucky’s worthless legislature doing while Andy is just running wild?

LOL....we had friends over for dinner last night, and I have reservations next Fri/Sat/Sun with "friends and/or family"....whatever.

But on 5/25, groups of 10 can gather. Do they have to live in your house too?

It will happen if and when the courts and legislatures say it’s time.

A bunch of gyms in Ohio are challenging the constitutionality of the health director being granted so much power with no oversight. She has unilateral authority to issue stay at home orders, delay elections, keep businesses closed, etc. with zero checks and balances at the moment.

Per Andy’s order, households should sit at different tables. I guess restaurants can now check your ID to serve you alcohol and ensure you aren’t eating with a friend who doesn’t live with you.

I don't think they'll hold up. Just as we've seen here and in Wisconsin. Once people feel safe they're going to start pushing back on these things.

I feel like there’s a whole subset of people who have no idea how much of the world is still trying to operate in violation of these stupid orders. I’d imagine once some people finally leave their houses, they’re going to be horrified by the number of people not wearing masks, who press elevator buttons with their hands, who eat at restaurants, etc.

But a lot of those people are in a long term relationship hype shutdown and hysteria, and if they give up now, all that time and effort was for what? So they just keep supporting the restrictions rather than acknowledging things should have been, and certainly can be, done differently.

If they felt comfortable enough removing the field hospitals they should release most of the restrictions and send reasonable guidelines for businesses.

I'll be enjoying my very large steak with Dr Bob next Friday and supporting a KY/OH business. I can't wait.
