This is kind of piggy backing off of the Duke - unc potential championship game thread.
If you know for a fact going in that we win the game, who are your top 3 teams you would most like to knock out of the championship game?

1. Uk. Wearing that national champs shirt around here everyday for the next year? Priceless!!
2. unc....just for the bragging rights
3. Gonzaga ....Still want Hatchimura to eat his words.

UNC-because Rivals would probably have to shutdown THR because of the meltdown

Kentucky-because Rivals would probably have to shutdown RR because of the meltdown

Gonzaga-because they’re the only team to beat us when we were at 100% strength and because Hachimura said we were soft

Sticking with my original 3, but Maryland and uconn are two more I would take a lot of joy in their fans faces if we beat them in the finals

1. UNC - That would give us the rivalry upperhand for the rest of forever. Regular season is one thing but stealing away a natty will burn into all their souls stabbing a permanent hole into their hearts in the shape of a D.

....... Unless you’re guaranteeing a 3/4th court pass to RJ at the other end of the court with 2.5 seconds left to win. Then I’m picking UK lmao

UNC. The news media around here would shut down. The students would burn the campus to the ground. Anyone who lives here in the triangle knows that the news media has a love fetish for the unc. Plus I’d lose a lot of those friends who talk ish constantly.

I got one for y’all. UNC gets upset by a 16 seed and we make the final four but not win the title. Would you take that? I think I would lmao. Acc champs and a final four is a great season. Some would see it as a failure, but not me. Hard to get to the final four. I would have said championship game but I’d rather lose the game before than that if I had to choose. That’s amuntion just like if we both played in the title game and we won. FOREVER!

No. Them losing to a 16 seed doesn't take away the pain of us missing out on the title. My ultimate goal is we win a title. As long as that happens, I don't care how far or not far anyone else goes. I doubt you can come up with a scenario that I will say I will be ok losing in the final four as long as "this" happens

Yea wrong team for this scenario. I wouldn’t view a final four loss as a season failure but it would be a disappointment for sure....I just can’t stand their fans man!!!!

I get that, but first weekend losses (to me) sting the worst for the rest of the tournament and then I’m on to the next season and it doesn’t bother me as much. Losing heartbreakers in the Elite 8 or later stick with me longer. I’m still not over the KU loss (it was a charge, dad!) or the 04 or 99 UCONN losses. Beating UNC in the NC will haunt every UNC fan for the rest of their lives. I can’t pass up on giving them that misery. But, that’s only if it’s a guaranteed win, which it’s not in reality, so go Iona!

I’d like for them to lose the first weekend, or the round of 16 game. Then that team that beat the holes beats Kentucky.
We beat Virginia for the title by 10-15.

UNC

Duke has already dismantled Kentucky this year.
I appreciate what Gonzaga has done and the level they played at to beat Duke earlier, but like Maryland used to be - it's just another game.
Anytime Duke beats UNC it's a great thing. Whether it's playing hearts in the Bryan center or or playing basketball in the national championship game - it's always a great thing.
