I don't remember him being very hyped. His highest ranking was 26th. He came in with the mindset that he would be a multi-year player.
Him, Skal, the dragon, EJ Montgomery, and who else to fill out the all miss evaluation team?
Didn’t Cal win like 4 games? Also why is he wearing sunglasses?It's just a bad angle.
He did average 15.5 ppg at Cal in 2022-2023. He got hurt last year after six games.
This was just his senior year and he only played six games due to injury. So I'd say he probably has two years of eligibility left due to the COVID year and medical redshirt.
I forgot this kid even existed. And I’m not even trying to be mean. I guess I’ve mentally blocked that 9-16 team out.
I never thought Askew was a OAD level PG or talent like many of his predecessors (PGs under Cal). He came to UK a year early and was forced into a starting role. I do think if he stuck with a program and a coach for his entire collegiate career we’d be hearing good things about him today.
Well maybe not if he stuck with Cal because he’d be recruited over and sidelined. But outside of that I think his primary issue is between the ears. I’m not sure if he was at Texas when the Beard saga with his wife went down, but if he did and that’s why he transferred I’ll give him a mulligan for that one. Outside of that though looks like he lacks patience, discipline, and loyalty. But he’s young and has time to grow. Lord knows I had to do those things.
