The bulk of that goes to the company that comes in and provides the service for the stadium. Just for some perspective, BHG (Malones, Drakes) was doing it with their folks after the remodel but cancelled before last year. No money in it even when they were only servicing the private bar area. Hire a full staff, bring on and hold products, for a decent 3 hour grind and a 20 minute rush in the middle for only 7 occasions a year!!!!!! ....AND that is with selling a higher percentage of wine and spirits vs beer that you would in the general areas (wine and spirits are more profitable than beer). UK hasn't found a replacement for BHG, because nobody wants it and can afford to attempt to run it and they aren't doing a great job managing it.

IF beer sales were allowed, a corporate national company (like LEVY) would come in and run it. They would keep almost all profits as it would be hard to make a profit on this model and UK would only benefit from being able to provide the guest service of beer, without profiting from it. Beer sales solve nothing in our program. If you think it's so great, go open a bar and sell beer only all day every day. Come see me in 2 months when you are out of business. It's fools gold.
Would the revenue structure work like beer concessions at pro games? I’m thinking of the actual “beer guys” that walk up and down the steps.

I have many things that I would change, but my biggest proposal would help us climb to the top of the SEC in terms of caring for football and Gameday Atmosphere. I’ll include a few more things in the list too.

1. Demolish KPP and the Soccer Stadium-

Let’s be real with ourselves, baseball is a dying sport. The demographic that still cares for baseball will be (Sadly) gone in the next few decades. The program is also a financial liability with a few hundred fans who attend sparingly. If it were turned into a club sport, funded by students and their families, nobody would notice.

Soccer, where do I even begin? The decline of American society can be linked to the rise of soccer with our youth. I personally believe it should be banned and sent back to fairy land (Europe) and have it erased from our collective memory. I would immediately move to cancel the sport at the University of Kentucky.

So, I would have the stadiums demolished. That way we would fill them in and level the ground to make it a massive tailgating lot. It would benefit that majority of people and hurt a very (very) small percentage.

2. Give added funds from cancelling those sports to Coach Cal and Stoops for an assistant pool.

Let’s pay our assistants the most in the country. What better way to climb to the top than having the best staff in the land?

3. Allow Alcohol Sales at games.

No brainer. Just more money to add to the pool.
Number 1 is beyond stupid.

I for one would up hold the no alcohol sales. Being around a drunk is the most obnoxious
Situation to be in at a ball game. Especially with your family.
My wife and daughter in law, had a Kentucky fan pour beer on them. He was way over his limit but they kept selling to him.
We tried to ignore him as much as possible.
That did work he kept putting his wet shoes on our seats.
Then of course he said; something to the wrong sonwas on like donkey Kong!!

His friends step in and took care it quick before the cops where called over.

My wife went to the USC game and took our 9 year old niece. Drunk setting be hind them was arrested.

We’ve had few drunks puke on us over the years.
Alcohol can ruin the game experience for fan! Who just want to come to a game and be a fan!!

I see people with shot bottles, pints and beers. In the stadium all the time so it there
But don’t add to the problem by selling more alcohol!!
If people want to drink fine but don’t let our
Stadium become a anti family experience!!

I’m a season ticket hold and have been for a lot of years!
I get your point. I don’t drink anymore so I agree with you to a point. I had season tickets from 93-08. Tailgated with the same crew every game. We would get absolutely hammered before the game. Fix a strong drink for the walk in, and chug it at the gate. Mostly because we knew we would be there 3-4 hours before the next drink. If you could have 3-4 beers during the game maybe you don’t start the game as drunk. Just a thought

Don’t think baseball is dying but agree that soccer does suck.
Soccer in fact does not suck. It allows more kids to get involved in sports and at the youth level allows all skill levels to participate. And if you take the time to learn the sport it’s very fun to watch.

College baseball is a quickly growing sport, you're totally off base. Fans here would actually flood KPP if we had a coaching staff that could produce winning baseball. Half the SEC has bigger attendance for baseball games than they do basketball. Talk about clueless.
Meh. "Fans here would actually flood KPP..."?

Those guys are just employees too. Sometimes they outsource that to a company called "Rocket man". Who provides the employees and the hawkers. In that sense, another company takes a piece. Doesn't change anything for the school/venue.

The numbers from SEC schools show otherwise. LSU had net revenue of $2.3 mill their first year. And that didn't include luxury areas. You are just spouting stuff again with zero substance.

I've forgotten more about this than you will ever know. The only thing you have shown is that you can access the internet. 2.3 million in revenue (that means sales) means nothing. How much return did they actually receive on that?

After a quick google search, i found out Aramark is the service that handles LSU's football stadium. They are national, do some UK stuff, EKU, Lex Legends when they first started, many more. Off of 2.3 million, Say they have better than average NP at 8%(that's net profit UK Rob), so that earns $184,000. Aramark splits net profits with the school, 50/50 from what I read, so LSU earns an additional $92K. UK may be able to do half of that, so, what would you spend the $46K on? DipS#!T.

Lol, I'm talking to idiots. The fact you think "net revenue" equals "sales" is all I need to know.
Dumbass.

This post wasn’t a anti drinking post. It was a pro non alcohol sales in the stadium.
I understand being UK football fan and season ticket holder for over a decade. Why you might want a drink lol!

I hope people can go a few hours without a alcoholic drink and still enjoy the game.

It’s just my opinion! As they say in the Corp and everyone has one😊

Here is how ignorant on the subject you are. You literally couldn't be more wrong. LSU does in fact split their proceeds 50/50 with the service provider. You claim that comes to about $92k. Lol. It was in fact over a million dollars that they received as their commission from the provider. It's public record you know. Lol
I included a link that shows you they received over a million. You were only off about $900k. Lol

Alcohol revenue is the same as alcohol sales. You don't see me coming to the car wash and taking the towel out of your hand, so don't come into my space and talk as if you know anything. This comment was somehow even dumber than your first post. Bye bye for good idiot.

Gross Revenue is the same as sales. But the article says " NET REVENUE" which is not the same. You are getting gross revenue confused with net revenue. There is a huge difference. Net revenue factors in cost of goods sold. The fact you still don't get this even after being corrected tells me all I need to know.

Lol at " your space". You said LSU took in about $90k from alcohol sales, when they actually took in over $1 mill. Lol. And you don't know the difference between gross revenue and net revenue. You are absolutely clueless.

Just say you were wrong.

I missed the Net in the article. Percentage goes up, but the point is the same. It's not going to make a difference for a SEC program. Now bye for good.
