Saw in the Sun-Times that the IHSA declined to hold an appeal hearing on reinstating CPS soccer teams to the state playoffs. Assuming they were following their by-laws, it seems they made the right decision. Although it is definitely unfortunate for the kids impacted, if you are an organisation which has by-laws by which you operate, then you need to follow them or the by-laws are useless. To apply the laws and rules inconsistently is not fair to anyone.
Regarding football, so far it appears they are also adhering to their by-laws. Seems they are following through with declaring teams ineligible for the playoffs if they cannot get the required 8 games in during the regular season. We will see how all this plays out for sure by the middle of next week.
