Let's just call it "to the victor belong the spoils" to make it sound heroic.

“You remember I always used to say, keep the oil! I wasn’t a fan of Iraq, I didn’t want to get into Iraq. But I will tell you, when we were in, we got out wrong.”

All this coming from a POS who couldn't fight for his country because his foot hurt.

During a speech to CIA officials on Saturday, Trump pushed his oft-repeated and demonstrably false claim that he was a vocal opponent of the Iraq War, while simultaneously suggesting the United States should have taken the nation’s oil as reimbursement.

“The old expression ‘to the victor belong the spoils,” Trump said during a
self-aggrandizing speech at the CIA. “You remember I always used to say, keep the oil! I wasn’t a fan of Iraq, I didn’t want to get into Iraq. But I will tell you, when we were in, we got out wrong.”

Trump argued he wanted to keep the country’s oil for “economic reasons,” but also argued the move would have prevented ISIS from rising to power in the region. “

Wolf Blitzer asked Sciutto for his “reaction to this whole notion about taking the oil.”

“You know, it could potentially violate international laws,” Blitzer noted.

“It does!” Sciutto replied. “It doesn’t ‘potentially’—we have to have a throw your hands up in the air moment. It violates international law, it violates U.S. law, it violates U.S. policy for decades.”

“It’s just ridiculous,” he continued. “And it was a ridiculous statement at the CIA, and for the press secretary to not be able to walk that back …”
