to figure out that we need a new coach. I like Stoops, and its so disappointing because he gave us all such hope. But we're terrible. Losing to programs with inferior talent, ALMOST losing to a coach-less EKU team that Lafayette could beat, we just look lost on so many plays its insane.
So we have ONE more year of the same before he gets the ax? Because you know it, I know it..... Cats will be exactly the same next season, or worse.

It will be the "or worse" scenario IMO simply due to the fact that the schedule is substantially more difficult and Stoops can't coach anyone up. Those that were thinking 6-6 or 7-5 last year might want to set their sites on 4-8 or another 5-7 season.

I think you have found your niche-----and it ain't football.

UK has some very talented YOUNG talent, but which team besides EKU (that we beat, all that matters) are we so clearly better talent wise, especially in upperclass talent? Vandy is the obvious choice, but their 12 class (seniors) had three four stars to our one (Towles, now gone) and they had ZERO two stars with only four of their three stars at the low end at 5.5s. We only had eight of the 26 commits from 12 that were regulars, and if you except Towles the seven averaged less than a 5.5, Toth probably the best of the rest at a 5.4.

In the 13 class Stoops brought in three four stars, but Smith graduated to the NFL while Vandy had five four stars. They had one two star, but he was a kicker, while we had three two stars.. They only had two 5.5 three stars while we had five 5.5 three stars so their three stars were rated higher than our three stars in both classes.

So, while we do have more talent overall (I think) because of the 14 class, most of our best talent is still very young, and that does make a difference.

This is comparing our upperclass talent to what is generally agreed is the least talented SEC team, and we are still so far behind the rest of the SEC talent wise overall it isn't funny. it won't be corrected overnight, but I expect the 14 class to grow up a lot next year, and we have some excellent talent joining them, most of it underrated.

We still have a very solid class in 16 with help where needed the most, and when we win a few, the recruiting will take off again.

Stoops will receive 2-3 more years to get it right...

That's a fact!

He may get it figured out and what he may discover is that letting go a little bit may be the answer.

I think that he's trying to manage every detail and that's just not working.

If he can't trust his assistants to do the job he hired that for, then he needs new assistants.

I personally think that we need to make a few changes on the staff but I think that Dawson would do a great job if were allowed to just do his job without Stoops throwing a stick in the spokes.

I guarantee you that the offense we saw this year wasn't Shannon Dawson's offense.

It was a mish mosh of crap with no purpose because Stoops is afraid to commit to a wide open offense.

Oh well...Didn't mean to get sidetracked there...

It's great your 99% basketball because that other 1% shows to be a football idiot.

OP... Like others have said, become 100% Basketball. You can go to Rupps Rafters & talk about the UCLA loss all you want. You'll likely feel better and the football posters will feel better too. Win/Win

Come on... what more evidence do you need? Did you see ANYTHING, ANYTHING, that gives hope for next year? We could have Tom Brady at QB and we're going to get our brains beat in.

I disagree. I think if we had Tom Brady at QB we would have won at least 7 games. I love how fans are always dealing in hypotheticals and then acting like we would absolutely know how something was going to turn out.......

Well the line isn't getting any better next year. Especially since the line coach is still there.
