I have had a TEC Sterling II infrared grill for the the past twelve years. It gets very hot very fast. It also uses a lot less propane. I like it and if I needed to buy another gas grill I would but another TEC. I believe they make a small tailgating grill. Here is the link: http://tecinfrared.com/

I didn't know that; guess I'm surprised to hear that's the case (though I freely admit I know nothing about infrared beyond the fact they burn hotter than hell).
