I'm just curious to opinions of the board as to why they think something like this would happen?

There's more to it, I'm sure.
I am seriously wondering if that is the case however? 'You need an immigrant visa' WTF , although she is born in Canada no criminal record and especially with the seamless cross border travel over the years between full fledged citizens? Something is off here in some way I am hoping, because if not it just simply is not right imo.

Would you say there is any validity to this comment by Calzone? I wouldn't have a clue. May be total BS.

I'm sick of these ignorant comments. Anyone who travels to the states often or knows people that do can tell you of tough border experiences or about instances of denial. This is nothing but hyped news and has been happening long before 9/11.

Unless you have access to the cbp file on her you can't comment. You have no idea what she said to them or what was said to her.

People of all races denied all the time.

No I can't...that's precisely why I asked the question...and I guess we all just throw our hands up in the air...oh well...

Here's another one for ya...I particularly love the last paragraph re Uzbekistan...can't make this **** up...and thus the raised eyebrow...
Well done Mr. Beltran...

She was denied entry in december, so that was before Trump. Don't you guys have spas in canada? Or do you have to sign for them like you do for knee replacements or hip replacements or other medical procedures?
Lol, of course...and I imagine hundreds in Montreal. Maybe this one in Vermont is world renowned I dunno...Vermont is nice, I always enjoy it, I can't blame her for wanting to visit.

Yes she was denied entry in December however was allegedly told to come back the next day re: a computer systems issue and was let in without delay. Who knows, maybe this flagged her in the system some way, and the USA is obviously entitled to do whatever it deems necessary to protect its borders. However I really can't blame a darker skinned person for being just a little bit freaked now about crossing the border...and in fact from what I was listening to on talk radio today, many are now simply deciding to say 'why bother'....

One has to ask, why go to a spa in Vermont in the dead of winter? Certainly not for the weather. I have to question that one myself. Don't you think it is odd that she was denied entry several months before trying it again?

Only maple syrup is world renown in Vermont, nothing else.[roll]

I do...just saying something seems out of whack somewhere along the chain...I go to Vermont in winter all the time! It's incredible for winter sports...although I realize not for everyone. And yes the maple syrup is of legend lol...I honestly can't decide between my local stuff and the VT variety
...always bring back a good amount back home from there. The price is actually a bit cheaper than here. I put the stuff in everything that normally calls for sugar (homemade slaw, coffee, and my spaghetti sauce believe it or not)...apparently I exist on beer and maple syrup it seems......well...red wine does the job sometimes too.

Do you pay a duty on it when you bring it across the Canadian line? [winking]

Not a chance in hell...I have a very believable mug on me...the 6 x 24's of Yeungling week to week in football season can attest to this...although eventually I will get too big for my britches and be flagged for life lol...but in the meantime! [cheers]

First, she's coming from North of VT. It's probably no colder than where she's coming from. Second, people in Colorado go to Glenwood Springs in the dead of winter for the hot springs. Some people (outside of Virginia) are actually used to cold weather.

I have a friend who worked as a flight attendant for several years. She got marked for trying to bring an orange across the border, part of a lunch she packed for a quick turn around trip.
