I think most if not all NFL players do the majority of their conditioning on their own. There aren't a lot of required team workouts and what's there is mainly for camaraderie. NFL guys are out busting it most off-season long with their own personal trainers. College guys don't have the luxury of all the personal nutrition and fitness off-season training that NFL guys get.

Needless to say the NFL doesn't have (or need) adequate team conditioning programs. So maybe that's why Croom had no clue about getting a team conditioned.
