That I agree with. I don't believe we can ever out-recruit UGA, BAMA and some of the others in the SEC, consistently anyway. I think my thought process there is realistic, too, unfortunately. I'd like to believe that Shane will overachieve with the talent he puts on the field. His first two seasons here give me hope that he will do just that. As Churchill once said, "The future is unknowable, but the past should give us hope". If he can continue upgrading the talent, that, too, gives hope. His Dad, Frank, was never a great recruiter. He was a good recruiter. But, his forte was "coaching". I believe that Shane is proving to be a "chip off the old block" when it comes to "coaching". That being said, I THINK Shane is a stronger recruiter than Frank was. BUT, I believe that if Shane is going to make South Carolina nationally relevant, he is going to have to do it by outcoaching opponents. They used to say that "Bear Bryant can beat you with his players. And he can take your players and beat his". Hopefully, Shane will show that kind of coaching ability.
