Guys,

I know I've said this before, but I'm done with Kentucky Football. I honestly didn't think it would get this bad in Year 4. I will not be back until 2 things happen, the current athletic administration is gone and we hire an actual football coach with experience. While I realize we made good offensive hires in the off season, it shouldn't have taken this long for the defensive hires to get that side of the ball to gel. It's very obvious that Stoops has hitched his train to Eliot and the defense. While that's completely fine, it's to the point where he's got to go down with the ship.

I know a $12 million buyout is a lot, we have one of the wealthiest athletic department's in the country. We can afford the buyout IF we are willing to spend on an actual football coach. I've spent 3.5 decades watching this garbage, hoping to relieve or even get a taste of the glory days of Kentucky football's past, but sadly I've come to the conclusion that it's just never going to happen without a real change in attitude at the top.

It's been such a pleasure getting to ride the few high's we've had and the lowest of low's with most of you, but this was the straw that broke my back. I've always considered myself a die hard Kentucky fan and while I still am, I just can't take this garbage anymore. I will do my best to keep up with scores every now and then, but that's about all its good for now for me. I hope enough of you will do the same, so that we can show the administration we're done with this nonsense.

How can you say you're still die hard if...ah, never mind.

I will always bleed Kentucky Blue, always. I've made my voice heard on several occasions, but obviously it hasn't hanged anything. This is all I know that's left to do.

I am 62 and have tried so hard but since 77 it has been a debacle for the most part. Not sure I can stomach to ever watch another game. Bama is my other favorite football team so I will just watch them

I've seen posts like mine before and how harsh they get criticized. I respect posters like you and for you to somewhat seem to agree with me speaks volumes as to where our fanbase is mentally with this program currently.

I want to vomit. Honestly. But, for years I've heard the people say let's pay a great coach and bring him here. Who wants this job. Do you all realize that Bill Curry was national coach of the year when we hired him, and he came here and ended his career. I'm pissed and think our coaches are not earning their salaries, but I don't know who we could hire.

Hey, don't bail now.........Vandy and SC are guaranteed wins this year according to most on this board. There's still hope.

Well yeah, now that Mitch has successfully poisoned the entire football program beyond repair, nobody wants the job.

Bobby P would have put us on the map quickly. But no, we have to have somebody who can lose with dignity.

Then again, Stoops isn't exactly Mr. Sunshine. What exactly has he done to exemplify his own behavior?

Doubtful. Besides, the only good thing about beating them is at least we won't go winless on the year!

You do realize that a win over SC has been KY's "signature" win the has helped Stoops keep his job and gave Joker an extra year. Like I've said, SC laid an egg last year for the season........but I still can't figure out why UK fans think you passed us by in football. UK has done no better. You have averaged 5 wins the past two years...........guess what, so has SC. The difference is we were way up in the rankings before our slide.

I get your point and I don't think UK has passed SC by. I think we're about even, honestly. SC should feel in the same boat, too. A 2 win season does nothing for your program.

I live in Columbia, by the way. I don't see SC getting further ahead of Kentucky as long as Muchamp is there, either.

Trust me, I'm not saying SC is better than UK this year.......you guys have had our number the past several years. I just marvel at fans calling SC a "sure win." I would not bet on a UK/SC game to save my life cause right now both teams are jekyll/hyde.

I do disagree about Muschamp........he is relentless in recruiting and he's a dang good defensive coach (wh/ SC has lacked the past 3 years).

I turn 33 on Tuesday, so I'm not as up there as some of yall, but I quit investing in season tickets last season. Still went to four games. Anyway I get tired of seeing response posts from guys my age and younger criticizing the "old folks" who are hanging it up. These guys have been through over half a century of the crap we watched last night, though they are also fortunate enough to have witnessed the 1950 and 1977 seasons at least. I don't fault them in the slightest for saying enough after all that. The only thing this administration understands is butts in seats. Joker was fired the moment we only had 5,000 in Commonwealth for Vanderbilt.

I took my current job 7 years ago for various reasons, but a big one was because it would afford me the opportunity to not work Saturdays (which meant I could go to UK football games,) and that even then at 25 years old I would have enough discretionary spending money to buy season tickets. I stomached Joker, and of course was excited when we hired Stoops, but after year 2, I said forget spending this kind of money. I can go on vacation, do nice upgrades to my house, etc with that. We, as the younger up and coming generation, have an ever increasing responsibility to make the UK administration quit screwing around. None of the upgrades matter if we don't have a winning coach.

Your in for a real shocker.Boom is recruiting at a level Kentcky can't. The gap will widen again like the Spurrier years. Not a flame, just my opinion.

give me a solution
Get rid of Barney, hire an experienced coach, and take football seriously. Quit sneering at fans. Stop being hypocritical about hiring controversial coaches in football while winking at Calipari in basketball. Stop dumping money on unproven coaches halfway through their second season. It's a cowardly thing to do.

As far as Muschamp, if he couldn't recruit and develop players at Florida, there's to way he's going to do it at SC. Obviously, I have a lot of friends who are SC fans. For them, I had hoped the Houston coach got the job.

I highly doubt that for reasons that I just mentioned. If Muschamp couldn't get the job done at Florida, there's no way he gets it done at SC.

There's no doubt our situation is a better landing spot than 4 years ago. A ton more talent on both sides of the ball, some of the best facilities in the SEC, etc. You can't tell me we can't lure a HC with what we have here now. I'm not saying we could get a Saban level hire by any means, but we could get a good HC. Hand them a blank check and have them to write down any figure they need to. Pay the man and make it happen. 7, 8, 9 million $. Whatever it takes to turn this thing around.

Im not being disrespectful. Just a conversation. I get it. Before Spurrier the USC fan base was like your comments. Winning 3 SEC games and going 6-6 or 7-5 was a dream season. Beatiing Vandy and Kentucky and one more win was a dream season in the SEC. Muschamp will do just fine. I laugh when I keep hearing about UF. He went. 11-1 in the the regular season one of those years. USC and Kentucky would kill for that. Even under Spurrier our best regular seasons were 9-3.10-2.10-2.10-2. USC is 3 years removed from finishing no 4 in the country. We can disagree, but I think the opporunity for success is higher at USC than Kentucky in football even today. Im not looking it up, but I assume in the last 10 years USC is 6-4 or 7-3 against Kentucky?

I'm not convinced of this. Remember that we hired Rich Brooks after offering the job to multiple people that said no. I remember after getting killed by LSU Brooks was asked if he felt like his job was in jeopardy and he responded something like "I wasn't the first guy they offered this job to. If they think they can do better, good luck to them." Who takes this job? The good coaches already make tons of money and have f you money. Why come to Kentucky where it is hard to recruit, and even if you start recruiting well, everyone wants you fired after 3-4 years. I am extremely disappointed, but I think we have to keep a coaching staff (including coordinators) for awhile and develop stability before we ever really have a chance to compete.

UK fans said the same exact thing back in 2014, with 10 four star recruits. So, actually we can recruit at that level, and as you can see nothing has changed on the field for us. We out recruited UL and we all said the same thing, "the talent gap is closing we'll be beating them in x years."

Stoops, like Muschamp, has the same reputation of being a good defensive minded coach, which means nothing as a head coach. Some guys are just meant to be coordinators, and imo Muschamp is one of those guys.

No disrespect intended, but if Muschamp can only go 28-21 at UF, what makes you think he can do better at South Carolina?

You were that good because you had spurrier still relatively in his prime. You have actually had 2 top 50 coaches in the past 15 years. That's why you won.

Take Holtz and Spurrier and put them on UK's staff and give you all Morris, Brooks, Joker and stoops and are you dumb enough to think the roles wouldn't be reversed?

You all were 3-5 against us in the 90s and have now lost the last 2. Overall, we're comparable programs, with us being slightly better when you all don't have a HOF coach.

Write in to our heads, call for the dismissal of Barnhart, don't pay for basketball tickets, but never give up. And rooting for another team means you aren't really a UK fan anyway.

He came in to like a 2016 class ranked around 50th when he arrived, he brought it into the top 30. Currently, Rivals has SC's class for 2017 ranked 10th. I'd say he can recruit. He also hit 5 high schools on Friday recruiting the day after our Vandy win. Anyway, KY losing to S. Miss doesn't help us in the least but you have only out recruited us one year in the past 10, so not sure why any fan of either school thinks they are remotely superior as it stands today. This will be an interesting season, and one of the three games I was worried about before the season (other than the ones I don't think we would win like CU, UF, UGA), was KY cause you always seem to play to full potential against SC. I expect another hard fought game, and in a straight up bet might take KY but it's not because the talent is "superior"......it's because it lines up well for you guys. Can't wait.........wish it was in October so we could enjoy the horse races that weekend.
