The Modern Sodom or Gomorrah. Sin sickens the brain and makes you loose all shamefulness. The only answer is Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul says" their conscience is seered with a hot iron" No conscience. No disgrace.

The only answer is Jesus Christ.
You don't believe that, else your posts would reflect genuine concern for people the way Jesus did. Jesus sided with the weak (poor) against the powerful (Pharisees). Instead you side with the powerful (Trump) against the weak (immigrants). Like the Pharisees you think God is on your side. But when the Pharisees came face-to-face with God they rejected Him.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.--Leviticus 19:34

I love this thread! The smorgasbord of Christianity. Will you have any pickles, um I mean, I Corinthians today? Do you want to hold the Leviticus or do you want me to add it to your agenda? Will you be adding all of Leviticus or only the part the suits you?

I picked the Leviticus verse because it clearly states a teaching found throughout the Bible. If you notice I began with reference to the New Testament. I will admit it's difficult to discuss the Bible with people who know little about the historical context of each book, who know little about genre distinctives, and who know little about theological intent.

I'm pretty sure there wasn't a welfare system back then. Where people coming in were entitled to the fruits of the land. Jesus spoke in parables, where you are given talents and the ability to use them. Now we have people who use their talents to game the system. Jesus would want "us" to be charitable, give of our possessions but the wanton free stuff and a way of living off other people would not be in his teachings. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him to fish and he will eat for his lifetime.

You do err not knowing the scriptures. Just because your a Christian doesn't mean you have to be a milk-sop limp wrist ed liberal. We are not living in the Old Testament. Jesus said it was finished. We are NOT under the law of the OT. We are under GRACE. Their is nothing I said in the opening post that's not true. Liberal Christians always cover up the truth, it's not politically correct.

Notice you did address at all my point about Jesus--that He took the side of the weak over the powerful, whereas you side with the powerful over the weak. Notice I use Scripture to make my case whereas you use pejoratives. How odd it is for you to bring up grace when you exhibit so little.

You are wrong. The Moasic Law commands a 10% tax be given to the priests and 10% tax of the remaining be give for the tabernacle. That's 19% annually. Over and able this the Law commands 10% after the 19% be taken every third year for distribution to the poor. The Law of Moses also commands only one gleaning of the fields at harvest by landowners. What falls and is left is to be gleaned by the poor. Further the Law commands land owners to leave margins around the outer portions of their fields at harvest for the poor to harvest. Indeed the Moasic Law contained a Welfare system.

Not the same and you know it. I guess the equivalent would be what's in the sofa is for the poor? So you are saying 3% every year? I would love to see our poor out in the fields getting what's left for themselves.

You claimed there was no welfare system. You were wrong. Whether it's exactly the same is irrelevant. Also you're forgetting the other stipulations I mentioned. Furthermore, we're talking an agrarian society. If we were to account for economic differences between an agrarian society and a post-industrial society what do you think the percentage would be?

I'd like to see the poor eat 10% of all the widgets.[winking]
