Mofo... it just sucks to have Tre go out. I think everyone can agree he is the most valuable guy to the team... if Zion goes out, we have guys who can take that role... if Bolden goes out, we have guys who can take that role... if RJ goes out, we have guys who can take that role...

But goddamn it... Tre going out, that's tough.

And while it may have been years ago, Kyrie going out still chaps my ***.

It isn't even about winning and losing, which is strange. It's more the "not getting to see what it should have been" thing. That missed potential just sucks.

And now I am sad.

Me too!

And it kind of forecasts what life may be like next year without Tre or an incoming point guard.

Pump the scooby brakes. We just hope he can come back, and full strength. We must all remember that 2 of our title teams had to deal with some adversity.
If Tre can return, and be like he was, we will be a better team.

we still have 3 top 5 picks at very least top 10. If we can't win with that then I will be sad. I get Tre is a great leader and defender, but the team needs to adjust and deal with it.

The worst part is K never allows injury news to be leaked (understand why), I hope this isn't like the Amile injury, every game we think he's coming back, and never does.

Sure, the team needs to blah blah blah. But everyone knows the team will be SIGNIFICANTLY different, with guys having to take on roles they either have never trained to take on or are not ready to take on. And it still sucks, to see a team that has such potential suddenly facing this.

Yeah... we've had a bunch of injuries where its been a total tease each game. If we knew, right now, "6 weeks out" fine, I could deal. But after having a bunch of "Eh, still out, no idea when he is back" things...

I had a work meeting last night so I DVR'd the game. Was able to avoid TV's and social media until I got home. Of course, 10 minutes into watching I was sick to my stomach seeing Tre go down. The loss (of the game) didn't/doesn't even bother me much. It's irrelevant to me. I feel horrible for Tre.

I try and be as positive as I can be, but there's nothing I can find positive about this situation. My head tells me that we might have seen Tre's last game in a Duke uniform. I don't want to think like that, but it feels like we've seen this movie before.

From what I have read, hope we can have him back by the ACC tourney. Google AC joint separation. 6 weeks for full healing

I fear the same as dukiejay. Feel terrible for Trey.

We know for sure that K will play it close to the vest. All the WebMD surfing in the world isn't going to tell us anything.

I just want Tre to get back to 100% whether it be in a Duke uniform or not. He is such a good team player and seems like a good kid who loves Duke!

Let's not forget that we have 3 top 10 picks still on this team with the GOAT coaching. This season isn't done yet. You take just those 3 guys and you still probably have the most talented team in the country. I look forward to the game on Saturday. I think they will be ready. Going to be tough but they can still win that game.

I think we lose a huge part of the puzzle whether it is Tre, RJ, or Zion. Each of those guys affect the game equally in their own way--and we would be just as bad off losing RJ or Zion. In no way do I think this is the end of Tre's season. Thank goodness its not a foot issue, right? I think he comes back, and we will be able to readjust with him in the game very quickly. Its going to be adjusting to life without him that will be the issue.

The defense was straight garbage without Tre. Not looking forward to a poorly played zone as an alternative.

So bummed! Flying over from Montana for my first duke game this weekend! They’re going to be a different team without Tre at the 1. Still excited but man what a major buzzkill!

Unless it’s just a one off for the UVA game, I don’t think putting this team in zone is an option. That’s just my opinion though.

I mean, even if he’s only out 4 or 5 weeks, it’s gonna set us back, and, worst of all, he’s not improving that entire time. I mean, have you been watching this kid closely? He puts in serious work, every game. And almost seemingly improves every game. This just kills me man, I’ve been in a $hitty mood since it happened, I love this kid.

Not going to lie, I didn't sleep well at all last night and kept seeing his collision over and over. Finally got up around 3 am for good. For the sake of me, I just can't figure out why we have so many injuries, especially when we have a great team assembled.
This morning really made me feel good about not being upset last night nor even the bit of negative post. If I feel like this toward Tre, I can only imagine his teammates who have been on the grind with him from day 1. Imagine the effect it's having on them. Of course they are going to say next man up etc... But I can only imagine the hurt they were feeling for a fallen brother last night in this great game of Duke basketball. I'm going to keep that in mind regardless of how they play from here on out until he returns. I expect K to rally the guys and they play like hell for Tre, because that's how he has played for them. Can't wait to see him back on the court!
