Yet we are 5-5 and will become bowl eligible next week. That's a step in the right direction - I don't care what any of you say.

Offensively we bring back 4 starting OL and our starting Center next year (Stallings) will have had a ton of playing experience at OG this year. And we bring back all of our skill players except Timmons.

We still have 2 games left this year. 7-5 is still possible. (6-6 is guaranteed). Watching UL tonight doesn't convince me they are all world like most make them to be.

At the end of the day, none of you negative nellies had us going to a bowl after 2 games. Instead, you all were too concerned about who our next coach was going to be. This team went to work and did what they had to do, with all of their limitations, to get bowl eligible. I don't care who you are, the team and the coaches deserve some credit.

If you feel good about this team, the coaches, and the season you have every right to do so. You can feel however you wish. At the end of the season I think you'll see UL score at will on us and maybe see the six teams we beat were not very good. If 6-6 makes you happy then you should enjoy the ride.

There is a very good chance we lose at Vandy, USC, MSU and UGA next year. Then we have UF and UT at home, which are presumable loses. Not including we have to go to USM to start off the season and who knows what could happen there. Then if we limp into the end of the with UL coming, it could be very ugly. Like finishing 4-8. I'm just saying. I believe they've only won 2 road games in four years...

We return almost our entire team. There's a very good chance we win all of those games.

Fans will stop being negative and start believing when we can win games like today and last week. We don't have quality wins. A bowl game this year is good for nothing more than extra practice. You can always tell a real coach by how fast they win games against quality opponents. Leach and Dykes have proved themselves at schools equivalent to UK in there conference. Stoops has proven nothing. Pains me to say that, because I really like him and really want him to succeed. But he is bad at picking a staff and developing talent. We will only be as good as the man who coaches us. And that won't change until the AD cares enough to hire a good one. I'm just gonna root on the team and enjoy the bowl game should we make one. And pray we can end UL's chance at anything significant.

6-6 is a step in the right direction that's all I'm saying. Would I prefer to be 6-4 or 7-3 right now? Of course. But to argue this team hasn't made progress is ignoring reality. We have one of the top OL in the country and our run game on O is unreal. D still has a ways to go - but I expect when a lot of the guys on D become Juniors and Seniors we will see a solid D.

Our coaches can now sell to recruits, objectively, that we are making progress on the field. That's a fact

We also have the benefit of 15 extra practices before a bowl game. Sorry man - I tend to think this is a good thing.

The 15 practices are a good thing, I agree. As someone said earlier, so many things can happen (and they usually do) in the offseason it's unusual for a team to pickup where they left off the previous season. We have great running backs and I assume we'll be strong in that area. We're going to have to pull a QB out of our backside or we'll be terribly limited there again next year. Maybe it's just me but I think you have to seize the opportunity when it presents itself and the opportunity to beat Georgia slipped through our fingertips this year and I think we should have competed against UT as well. You can say 'maybe next year' if you wish but I think we missed a heck of an opportunity this year. Just my opinion.

That's fair and I don't disagree with you necessarily. Our run game may not be as good next year, but maybe our run D gets better (I hope anyway) to balance that out.

We needed to win last week and we had as good an opportunity to grab 2nd or 3rd place as we'll see in most years. Although I expect this team will be ready to compete for the East next year. Just think we had too many issues this year and some of those will be cleared up next year (On D; O will be very good next year).

I'm going to say this. Everyone knows I support stoops and have on every thread but he still has some things to prove as I think next year is very crucial. But those wanting to move on from him I ask this.

What coach would come here right now if you move stoops. He has tripled win totals in four years. He has U.K. At 4-4 in sec play for the first time in exactly ten years, and sixth time in thirty. We will be going to a bowl game for first time in six years, with a backup qb, but that isn't good enough, all while your first full recruiting class hasn't even become seniors.

Coaches are like a fraternity. Stoops is a very respected name in the coaching world. If he is ran out of town right now, what coach who has any clout whatsoever would take that job? At BEST yoibwould be hiring another coordinator from a power five conference or a lifelong .500 mod major head coach. No up and comer would could him right now if you moved.

Now if stoops comes out next year and goes 4-8 yes you move him

Stoops is here as long as he wants to stay, as long as he wins 4 or 5 maybe 6 games he not going anywhere..
This is true....... But we can hope we're wrong concerning his upside and that what they say about us UK football fans is true........ We really don't know squat about football....

The jury is still out here. It's great we'll take a baby step forward, win 6 and get a minor bowl. What irks me are two games I felt we could have, should have won, S Miss and Georgia. Both of them in CW. We have to win those kinds of games, and it concerns me when we don't. Had we won those we'd be sitting at 7-3/5-3 despite yesterdays loss. And staring an 8th win in the face. And I wonder how a coach once considered one of the best DC's in the country can field a team with such an awful D.

It's puzzling how these schools are going to be back to the top in one year and we're not going to improve at all. Especially considering how small our senior class is.

"Small senior class"? Could that be an explanation for spotty performance? Let us think about that for awhile.

Where has this entitlement come from in our fan base?

We don't beat any SEC school enough to scoff at going 4-4 in conference.

This coaching staff has done more than enough to earn some respect from the fans.
They're mega insane jealous of Louisville and post what they want instead of what's going to happen . They think if you complain it will force UK to hire who they want , it won't .

I like your avatar of the Kentucky fan sitting on his winless throne, still waiting for his winning season to come. Any Kentucky fan that gives a d@mn , should be jealous of what Louisville is doing right now.

Your obese and very glutoness uk avatar should learn moderation . If you would stop being envious for a moment you might realize our status when Stoops was hired and just how bad the roster was . It was almost equivalent to starting a new fb program . Yet we have new facilities with an improved roster that's beating the teams we should , that's a big improvement over what uk used to be .

But don't let that stop you from exercising marvelous logic like thinking if we would have hired BP then we would be in UL's position (which drives the whiners) , there couldn't be a more error filled thought than that . What he inherited at UL was a program having gradual success in marginal conferences , they were in good condition when he took over . UK had one of the worst rosters of any power five school according to Neal Brown when Stoops was hired , so any idea that we could be in UL's current position is flat out wrong .

UK has almost always been terrible , we're in better shape than we've been in a long time and poised to take another step . I don't give a touch about UL and I don't judge UK by looking at other teams , I understand our situation and know how far we've come . I appreciate progress too and don't expect them to ish an east title after four years for a traditional dreadful program .
