For completely selfish reasons. Any chance Arkansas gets TaxSlayer or is UK to Jax a done deal?

I get it, that's the only way you could go. I was hoping for the Music City for the same reason. But once word started leaking out that we could be moved up the bowl ladder and get to play in a much bigger bowl, that helps the program much more than me being in a seat that will still be filled.

Op is a wonderful fan! He wants us to go to a lower tier bowl that pays approx. $1 mil less and does not help the program as much so he can attend game. Wonder if he would be willing to kick the extra $mil by going to the Belk bowl. I guess he is more important to the program than the added benefits of going to Taxslayer.

After the past years and the way the season started, I would have been tickled to see the kids go play in Birmingham or Shreveport.

Just from what I've been hearing on the sports shows, Vanderbilt knocked Tennessee into the Music City Bowl. Belk and Tax Slayer are selecting between Arkansas, Georgia and UK....it sounds like Georgia is going to Texas.

Winning that last game means a looooooooooooot. The bowls want that momentum and energized fan base.

Gator Bowl been around for over 50 years, has been a NYD bowl game for the last 20 years (until this season, it is now a lead in to the Playoff games).

In short it is >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Belk Bowl in terms of history and prestige

Relax. OP just wants to go to the game. That's more than most fans will do, no matter where the game is.

Quite sure the Kentucky Coaches want the exposure of the program in North Florida/Southern Georgia...a week of Free Advertising for the Program...

Wouldn't want to turn down a Florida bowl if it meant they were playing in my backyard.

Will work it out and if not will watch it on the tube and save up for tickets to Atlanta next year.

This is the truth! I think it's great for UK football. I can't make it to Jax and back due to other commitments. But I can make it to Charlotte and back. Plus I lived in Charlotte for four years.

There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to go to a different bowl, so they could attend. Some fans might not be able to go to a bowl in Florida, but could go to a bowl closer to where they live, because of cost, days off, etc. Being retired, I can and will go anywhere, but I realize everyone does not have that luxury. However, I would probably trade my age for theirs.

MCB would be easiest for me. Belk being on a Thursday knocks me out. Gator (I like that better than Taxslayer) is a maybe but not sure I can make it. All in all, I hope they go to Jax and take 60K fans with them. Though it's on the 31st, it's the equivalent of a NYD bowl. The coverage is priceless!

For selfish reasons I want the Old Gator Bowl. My selfish reasons are 1) Recruiting 2) more prestige 3) more money 4) the weather. 5) More TV exposure. Lots of New Years Eve parties around the nation will have that game on TV as they count down the New Year. Jacksonville is just a few miles south of Georgia so it is not as far away as some people feel.

Have a few real outstanding plays at 11:00 a.m., and guess whose plays get replayed over-and-over again, thru the rest of the games on the 31st, and 1st?

Kinda' like the win at Louisville: our long passing TD's were likely seen by more eyes after the game, on other networks, than viewed it live, in part as a result of a 12:00 kickoff.

Calm down. He has no ill will towards the team, just wants to see them play.

An "unnamed" SEC official and taxslayer bowl rep confirmed to 24/7(not sure i'm allowed to post a link here) that UK will be in taxslayer bowl vs GA Tech.

Nothing wrong with wanting Belk though since it would be easier for you to go.

I agree. It sucks that we haven't been to a bowl in 6 years and now this one will be over in 2 hours because both teams will run the hell out of the ball. Ga Tech is the last power 5 team I want to play. Really bad matchup for us. I was really hoping for Nebraska or Miami.
