I'm not concerned as much about his attitude as I am his health. Had he not gone down during the ul game last year, we win. Granted, once they put in their running qb, we could not stop them but with the lead we built and the fact they could not stop Boom, we simply would have outscored them.

Williams needs a drastic improvement in his conditioning which could help in his stamina and injury situations. He's missed a lot of PT due to injury and hissy fits, now's the time for him to grow up and see if he can become a really good RB.
Great post
We need a player to really blow up and have a great season.
Boom has the talent to be that kind of player.
I am very reserved about my expectations this season, but Boom could be a game changer and maybe a season changer and who knows a coach saver as well.

Boom is a key to our success this year. But, I truly don't think he'll get more carries this year. I expect JoJo and Horton and at least one of the FR to get some carries so Boom may still only touch the ball about 12-15 times. I'd like to see him pick up the blitz better. I'd also like Gran to throw him a few passes out in space and see what he can do there. Horton has been effective in the passing game and Boom is definitely more of a homerun threat than he is.

Regardless, we need Boom's explosiveness. But, he also needs to just pick up the three yards that's there rather than always trying to bounce it outside, reverse field and end up taking a huge loss or costly turnover. Sometimes, you just gotta take what's there and go on to the next play.

We all know there were issues with more than one offensive player and the offensive coordinator last season. I don't know all the inns and outs of what happened regarding Williams and the missing time or other issues, but I do believe Coach Gran has righted the ship and we should not have these kinds of issues in the future.

The arm injury he suffered could not have been prevented with any level of conditioning. He did play in a brace, and I'm sure endured a lot of pain. He also suffered a concussion on a kickoff return - I'm sure most people know by now that concussions are largely unpreventable and require time out IAW the concussion protocols.

and BTW we could use more fans like this

I think the elbow was just a freak accident. I worry more about players not having kneepads than his elbow. I bruised a knee in high school with a weird result, got water on the kneecap that was all swelled up and by the next Thursday I had about FIVE big boils on it, which came to a head and after they were drained I was fine, played the next night.

Anyone ever heard of this happening, I always thought it was really weird.

If Boom doesn't get hurt in the UL game, we probably end up winning that game. He was just running over people. Still sick to my stomach about how last year ended. Easily could of been 7-5, 8-4 if we make some winning plays. Offense will be much better by default.

This team will probably do as well as Boom does. I know most people think Barker is the key but I think Boom is. He needs to become that dynamic player he is capable of being. And we need to feature him in the offense. If Boom has a big year like Pinner did then we'll win 6 easily.

Didn't Boom also say during his recruitment that UK would "take over the SEC" in 2015?

Not criticizing his ability or desire, but right now UK players need to prove they can have a "special season" before they spout off about it. Everyone is a preseason champion; just ask the Vols. Once the season starts it's a different story.

Less talk more stats.

Maybe so, certainly hope so. Unfortunately he has not shown he has the durability needed to be that type of player.

The O line not Boom Williams will determine how successful the offense is. I've never seen an offensive line coach given so some rope as John.

Folks we now have a less mobile QB. In my opinion this line needs to be special.

Talk is cheap. Heard it for decades from our football players.
Broom has put 7.1 y;ards per carry and 6.6 yards per carry in 2 years...the kid has backed it up big time. Injuries are a problem and the little things (pass blocking, catching the ball, too many negative plays, etc..)...but Boom is legit RB and the best I've seen at UK (including Locke, Little, Pinner, Mo Williams, Logan, Adams, etc...) I absolutely love to watch the kid play

I like the interview with Gran concerning Boom, that was very telling to me about what his expectations are for the RB's. You ain't there you ain't playing next one up, hopefully this kid understands the importance of what he said
