In Our Prayers Marist

Our prayers and thoughts with Marist High School administration and students on the passing of one of their seniors. I’m sure the football team will be playing with a heavy heart. The Providence family understands your pain and heavy hearts during this difficult time. PC lost a student and football player 3 years ago. Although a difficult time it will make the Marist community stronger and tighter.

Very Classy of you PC Dad. I hear its been pretty tough over there at Marist. Its obvious the kid was very much loved. Its horrible that it takes something like this to get a message across but it indeed does. They have a strong family based community over there so I know everyone will be fine.

Thanks for the kind words. It has been devastating to the team and school, but with the support from family and loved ones these kids will be able to get through this. The seniors still seem to be in a sense of shock. The boy was a great kid that had an infectious personality that left everyone feeling better about themselves. I’ve always respected the Marist coaches, but through this, more than ever. They truly care about these boys and have their well being in mind first and foremost. There are a few Rice players that were also very close to this boy. Please keep all of these kids in your prayers and hopefully the lessons they’ve learned from playing football helps them through life’s real roadblocks.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Incredibly sad. Prayers for all those affected <3

Edit-
Based on the content in Marist's tweet, I'll find it acceptable to also throw out a PSA;

Everyone, if you or someone you know is in need of help, please ask for it.
If you would like to speak with someone, call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255, or text LISTEN to 839863.

Not to pry but I’m just reacting to your PSA, but did this young man take his own life? No need to reply if this was too personal of a question. Thanks

I also may give an avenue for those with college age adults. A HUGE and very active group is called Activeminds. Campus living is backing this group across the nation and is present at many universities. Reach out folks.

Just went to a wake for a LWE student who passed away in his sleep.

There IS NOTHING worse then losing a child.

May his and the Marist student's memory be a blessing to his family.

My heart aches for him and his family. It’s real easy to lose sight of how hard it is to be a teen in todays world. Definitely puts things in perspective.
