I stayed out of the other thread about 10-15k of us coming because I didn't want to fight, but we honestly do travel really really well. better than even most blue bloods.

If RU was defending NC and ranked #1 I'd travel too. As it is I don't go to home games lol

If RU fans bought the tickets and half assed fans didn't sell theirs then they would not be there!! It was the worst and loudest I have ever seen or heard it. And as our fair weather fans kept leaving it got worst and worst!! Blame the lousy fans. OSU fans should be proud of their attendance even if that team does suck.

OSU chant drowning out our band

A pin drop can drown out our band (not hating on the band, they're just small). Our own half-full student section drowns out our band every pregame.

Congrats to the OSU fans for being able to spell the name of their state. I tried to get a "N-E-W (space) J-E-R-S-E-Y" chant going in Sect 222 but it went nowhere.

You guys are crazy if you think all those people are from ohio. I was surrounded by a bunch a ny giants/jets season tickets holders who were at their first game cheering for their bandwagon #1 buckeye team. Decked out in Ohio state gear.

I met more on the walk to the stadium who bought $50 student tickets. Typical NJ people with no college affiliation routing against the local team.

I'd say 60/40 local v Ohio. LOTS of Midwest accents walking into stadium tonight. They're not "bandwagon" fans, either, aka a Miami, these people are OSU alumni/family/transplants.

In 1-2 years, we're going to need all the opposing fans we can get into the stadium to get 30-40,000 in the crowd.

Knew they would have more than PSU. Number 1 team in the country, travel well, and first time to Rutgers. Not sure why people are surprised.

This is what we signed up for people. If Rutgers wants to play with the big boys we need to start being a big boy.

No doubt there were a lot of OSU fans. We definitely need to fill up those seats more. I mean, come on it's a home game.

I can understand that though. They are a big brand name.

The thing that really gets me annoyed sometimes though is the spirit of the fanbase sometimes. I tried to sit as close to the student section as possible because they are the ones that get loud. After the first touchdown, I already felt like the crowd around me dampened a little. Maybe it's just me and I am a superfan. On top of it, I experienced some classic, exciting games (USF, Louisville vs. Bridgewater). Maybe some of the older alumni that never experienced that kind of zeal just don't know what it's like to experience something like that. Some lady in a Rutgers jersey gave me this look even after I was making some noise two touchdowns down.

EXPAND THE STADIUM,. EXPAND THE STADIUM

because don't we have a bunch of yahoos running around saying we need to expand every year

fact is our fanbase isn't all that large in number. I say it caps at about 45K and then relies on opposing fans to fill the rest...note we haven't been able to nudge those numbers much higher, the Big 10 hasn't made as much of a difference as people thought...we couldn't even sell out Michigan State

don't be surprised at this at all

Not trying to pile on guys, I'm really not, but I think a lot of Rutgers fans don't realize how many east coast kids end up at ohio state. There are a ton of jersey and long island kids that go to ohio state; many of them return home later after graduation. It's not like OSU fans are just traveling from Columbus; they live next door to you; there are a ton that live in jersey and the city now; and many went to the game in piscataway. This is one of the reasons the B1G wanted Rutgers (tons of B1G alumni in the area and so many from that region), don't get down on yourselves; stuff will come together. Growing pains guys; growing pains.

Just got home. It was embarrassing for those of us who were there. I've never seen a stadium taken over by an opposing fan base before and it sucked. It just wasn't any fun as I was surrounded by OSU fans. If this is how it's going to be for the rest of the year I'm seriously considering selling my tickets. It just wasn't any fun and I wish I never went for the first time. Very disappointed.
