The recent additions to the commitment lists surely highlight that refrain, and to think, we have 4 more possibilities this AM when Juco selections are made!!!

I woke up early this morning, made a pot of strong, Costa Rica, black coffee and walking out to look at the fog on my lake. Warm air coming from the Gulf and the sun rising in the East will move the fog out of here and it is indeed a beautiful day to be a Wildcat fan.

I am looking forward to the remainder of this recruiting season and really looking forward to a little game up in Jacksonville on the 31st. We need a win to carry this momentum over into the Spring. Just do it Cats.

A day really makes no overall difference in program building. Putting a series of strong recruiting classes together, then developing the players, makes the real difference. Jucos occasionally make a difference, but not always. Lonnie Johnson and Josh Paschal are nice additions, but football is a team sport. Landon Young might have been the single most important addition, and I would also include Boom Williams, Benny Snell, Denzel Ware, Derrick Baity, Chris Westry, Mike Edwards on that list. These guys are proven college players now. The most important thing about next season is that 19 incumbent starters will be back. Our roster has been methodically built through recruitment and development of players since 2013, and it is important to note that 11 projected starters for 2017 were signed (or walked on) in 2013 or 2014. That number doesn't count Austin MacGinnis, who signed with us in 2013.

I woke up made a pot of strong Costa Rica coffee. Looked through my frosted over sliding glass door at ice forming on my lake. Cold *** air coming in from the north. Still a beautiful day to be a Wildcat fan.

Yancey Reynolds FTW.
There have been a lot of examples of scholarships wasted on jucos. And some 4 year players too. Great player evaluations have brought a lot of successful under the radar players to our program, but there have also been some high profile busts. Happens everywhere. Stars don't measure a player's heart or IQ.

LOL, dang right. It is a good day to be a UK Football fan if you are stuck in the Antartica on a boat frozen in the water studying the effects of global warming on penguins

We have done well with JUCO transfers, going back as far as Lance Mickelson, at least. Very few busts that I can recall, though Y Reynolds certainly stands out.

That smith kid that came juco sure didnt make much of a difference....

Phatty, every one that is recruited, is not going to be what the coaching staff thought they would be. We just have to recruit enough good players to offset the few that don't work out. That's true in life, in every profession, and football is no different. I remember a basketball player on UK's team last year that was the No. 1 player in high school, who didn't work out as good as was expected. That's life!
