3-0 to start Big Ten play for the first time since 1967-68, as you might have heard.

Wow. Just wow.

EDIT: And, just to add, this was far from a perfect game from NU. Outrebounded 40-26. Middling percentages from 3pt and FG. OSU was in the bonus with 11:30 left to play in the second half. Yet some hard-nosed defense when it mattered, Ryan Young as a steadying force and some clutch shots from Buie, Kopp and Audige were enough to topple a team that was on its way to cracking the top 20.

I don't know who decided to take this Walter White turn on the Big Ten, but I am HERE for it.

That’s a big time win. Really gutsy. Seemed to be falling JUST short all game & dug deep with an amazing final stretch. Buie step back three was ONIONS! Unlike the loser ball we played against Pitt, this was a great winners’ win. Keep it going! Angry Iowa up next...

This is also a form of pissing in the cereal.
Even if I never defended making that decision prior to end of 21/22 season:
1) TKFH is being a bit of a dick. Which I suppose is normal and acceptable
2) still reasons to question some of Collin’s decisions. Questioning is not a bad thing. Accepting everything is
3) our record makes for a good case of how college ball is 90% recruiting. Though many don’t agree, CC has elevated recruiting a lot

This is just a huge W and NU didn't have a particularly good game. I think these guys are going to the dance.

Well this stinks. I was looking forward to cancelling my $55 per month Hulu subscription after the end of the football season. Now, maybe I want to watch a little Basketball this winter.

This team should be ranked somewhere in the 20s after this win. What a gutsy performance. The offense is not only good, it's fun to watch, which is another thing I never thought I'd say. Granted, we still have 17 games to go, but at this point they should be thinking NCAAs.

Do care that we are 3-0. THat we will be ranked, not so much. All these ranked teams are getting knocked off

What is this supposed to mean? You want to win Big Ten games but stay unranked?

NU hasn't been ranked since the first couple of weeks of the 2017-18 season. It's a big deal for perception of the program.

There have been plenty of people on this board who indicated they thought it was time to move on from CCC. CCC is the right guy for the job and we are lucky to have him. And next year will be the first full roster in a while.

I can’t allow myself to start becoming a tourney believer. What conference record do you think we’d need?

This! Not the best game but nu won. I love the more powerful offense but It was defense that set up the early 12-0 ? and the final come back.

BY the WAY, NU came back to win! That's new.

I said from the beginning of the year that this team was going to be fun to watch. People thought I was nuts. Don't know if we will get to the dance but it will be an entertaining season

0.500. We won't be able to get 20 wins so it will likely take a 0.500 record in conference. Fortunately we won't halve to fight uphill after a poor start like we usually do. If they get generous, wight get in with a 9-11 record but then you are leaving it to chance as it would take a 0.500 record overall and anything less than 9 wins and we don't get there without having winning record in BTT

You never want to rely on a sub-.500 conference record, and with the strength of this conference, I think a 10-10 record would be solidly in.

Ranking will take care of itself, IFF ( If and Only IF) we continue to win. We keep winning and we will be ranked soon enough. Most important is that we have the 3-0 record in the BIG.

We also don't have the luxury of a lot of OOC games to beef up the record so have to have a better conference record just to have a 0.500 overall record

I was a freshman at NU in 1967-1968 and attended all of the home games . The team finished in first division in Big Ten(8-6) but many critics thought that with better coaching (Larry Glass was fired next season) record should have been better(yes there were coaching controversies then but, of course, no online forums !). Highlight of the season was beating Louisville(led by Wes Unseld and #3 in the country at the time) .

Looking forward to the remainder of this season. After the Pittsburgh game, did anyone on this board believe the Cats might be 3-0 in the conference ?

My junior year. I went to every game

That was my senior year in high school, but I saw some of their games at McGaw. Cats had a lot of talent, but not as much athleticism or depth as we have now. Even had a couple sophomores from CPS, Dan Davis and Sterling Burke. They were fun to watch.

Jim Pitts was gone before then. The 67-68 team had Don Adams, Dale Kelly, Terry Gamber, and Jim Sarno, among others. That was also my freshman year.

If NU does get ranked, is this the first time the football team and both the men and women BB are ranked at the same time?

Yes it is.
