Hot candidate. Was HC at West Virginia, prior to that extremely successful at Drake. Iowa fans really wanted him as their new coach.

I like this pick for them—they had to lock someone up quickly given how competitive the market is, and he feels like a safer choice than McCollum (maybe to Iowa now?).

Selfishly hoping for a reasonably early tournament exit for VCU next so we can start to see more of these openings close up…

I thought if he was going to go anywhere he would go to Iowa. Now, as you say, the current Drake coach has to be their favorite, he is solid too.

Iowa had an NIL issue and couldn’t close the deal. Left the door open for too long for IU to make their way down their list to him.
