I have a few questions about the Indiana Ohio State game. 1) Other than Yogi and Blackmon, who does IU have and how high were they ranked coming out of HS? 2) It seems like a lot of our games are intensely physical on the inside. This game seems to lack any of that. Both are shooting a LOT of long-range jumpers. Is that typical for both?

All I know is D'Angelo Russell should leave after this year. Thad Matta hardly ever gives him any rest.

My question. Would Russell have seen much playing time for us? And who would he replace?

Yes since he would be the best PG on the team. He can play both PG and SG though.

But your question is probably why we were not after him very heavy.

Now he is cramping up. Yep. He has played too many minutes.

Indiana plays zero defense. I guess Cream's philosophy is to try and out shoot everyone. UK would crush them.

Big win for the Buckeyes today. 22 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds from the freshman from Louisville. I'm sure Rick is sick he did not sign him.

But, that was against IU. As someone else noted, IU plays no real defense and have nothing on the inside. How would he do against UK?

Izumi went to Michigan State and lost by 20. Toyed with today. If they get a NCAA bid better hope the games are played in Bloomington. lol

You shut down their perimeter shots, you shut down Indiana.
They still had 12 threes. If you stop their drives and pound them down low it doesn't matter how many threes they make. No inside game (other than the drive) and no rim protectors makes for an early exit in the tournament.

I thought this too but they went 12-25 today from three. The other dynamics killed them today.

Russell put on the best performance by any freshman not named Okafor. his passing was spectacular. Of course, IU has no rim protection so he went to the hoop at will. He will be a high lottery pick. (5-10).He totally outclassed JBJ today. He's bigger, stronger and a better ball handler and passer.

The Hartman kid for IU is a great shooter. If he can hit the weights, he can play at the next level. He's one of the 10 best three point shooters in college today.
IU would get absolutely killed by UK. They have no size whatsoever.

It is hard to shut down the outside shot when they have so many kids who can shoot the 3. That one kid, don't know his name, was 4 for 4 from outside the arc.

Russell is a "me first" player.

There are reasons why Russell is not at UK or louisville and why Blackmon is at IU. They want to be the "show."

Where is the evidence that he is a "me first player"? UK did not recruit Russell heavy so he went elsewhere that doesn't make him a me first player.

That explains his 10 assists. Thanks.

Yeah, there is absolutely ZERO evidence that Russell is a me first player. The need for some on here to bash a kid simply because he does not play for UK is bit ridiculous.

Williams was highly ranked out of HS for IU. We were looking heavily at him and was close to offereing until he lost some focus and going rogue in his games. He has regrouped and has been performing well for IU.
IU would be a really good team prob top 10 if they had that big center for them not go pro last season.

Russell has single handily kept Ohio State in the at large discussion this team doesn't make the tourney if he isn't there. He has had some amazing passes in the last few games if you haven't seen them you should take a look.

IU plays the only way that gives them a chance because they have absolutely zero inside presence, Therefore they spread the floor, drive and shoot a lay up or dish. It's the dribble drive with no offensive rebounding capability. IU is terrible on defense, absolutely helpless against any inside offensive presence . UK would absolutely crush them even if they made 15 3's.

BTW, the Hartman kid from Indianapolis Cathedral can really shoot. He's a 6'6" SG who occasionally plays in the post(!) because IU has few other reasonable options . He's skinny and weak but boy can he shoot. Reminds me of Kevin Korver of the Atlanta Hawks who is at least 3 inches taller.

Brain cramp. It's Kyle Korver whom Hrtman resembles. Also Korver is only 6" 7" so Hartman is closer to him in size than I thought. I think he's a better NBA prospect than JBJ who is relatively small for a 2 guard in the NBA and is NOT as good a long range sniper as Hartman.
