"Infamous"?, Ha! I'm still here, lurking more than posting these days. I also restrain myself from posting in Wildcat Lair since every time I log in to that forum I feel like I'm caught up in a perpetual rerun of the movie, "Groundhog Day". The more we change coaches the more things remain the same. After following UK football since I was 8 in 1958, I no longer believe I will see a consistently winning football program at the University of Kentucky before I depart this earth.

As for basketball, these are truly special times. UK basketball has recruited more top shelf high school players in the Calipari era than any other previous UK coach. We are so blessed to have Cal as our coach. I really feel sorry for the man who replaces him (which I hope is years down the road.). Coach Cal will be a tough act to follow.

I'm pleased you guys are still lighting things up for discussion. Thanks for remembering my infamy:)

First time I've posted since just at the start of BCG 2nd season. Use to post a lot here and Back in the Eric's Wildcatcats Place(EWP). I was really hating on BG enough to get kicked off pretty much every UK board Thunder still won't let me back. Loved my time posting with BWO who is the man to me. Oh, and Don was a Icon like a Kieghtly on the MBs.
Nice user name.....

Never saw the fascination with this guy. He agrees with everything, not any interesting insight or stories, and he hates UL. I can think of 50 on here i get a kick out of more.

Agreed, that mystified me as well. There were a few here that seemed to worship him and constantly tell him what a great poster he was. And I had no idea why--never noticed anything that interesting, or insightful about his posts. I never saw whatever it was they saw.

That was some fun stuff. Whatever happened to Johnny Ryall? He's the guy who used to talk about this other board called Wildcatchat. I decided to check it out one day and that was Rainman's original board.

The other guy I remember from there was Lord Crow. He shows up here once in a blue moon.
Johnny moved with us to The Goat Pen after they shutdown CNNSI for a little while then I think he posted here for a long time as Makers Mark or something like that. Not sure what happened to the Birmingham Lawyer after that.

BTW, I am Crow. The original one from CNNSI and the UK/UNC threads. Hence my signature picture.

Just started reading this thread. That dude was evil from the get go. I tried to tell people but everyone wanted to take up for him. He's a piece of **** of the smallest size, but with the maximum amount of stink. Good riddance.

pretty harsh, but I won't fault you for that sentiment and summary of ncaaucoach. I cannot count the number of times he would bait Rafters posters with sh*t like . . . the problems that happened at UK prior to Pitino may not be something you guys wish to discuss, but to be very frank, that sort of thing simply cannot happen at UNC. . . . and then Rafters posters would take the bait . . . and in their attempts to show their humility and the fact that we HAVE OWNED our mistakes, Rafters posters would openly discuss, page after page, ad naseum, all sorts of ages-old UK this and that . . . just so ncaaucoach would summarize it back in our faces, while filling in the gaps anything we may have left out (e.g. Spivey), and finally with something like . . . well, it speaks well of your fans that you are willing to admit what UK did, but just to be clear, that sort of thing cannot happen at UNC.

I would repeatedly jump in and just start dogging him for being a phoney - call him a dirt-bag having no life whatsoever - somebody who found this unc image and said to himself one day neat, I can make myself pure through this. His answer to me would always be something like . . . I know you don't like me, but there are lot of people here who respect me and value my opinions.

And when the unc virtue and morality ran out . . . when that was exposed for never having existed . . . he vanished . . . took the coward's way out. And to me that is all he ever was. The biggest and most blatant coward in the history of Rupp Rafters - NCAAUCOACH

The posters that fall for the NCAACoach type frauds are the ones that run around talking about posters as "statesmen" and that other lame crap. You are the words you write. Nothing more and nothing less. As an old Arizona poster named "Onion" used to always have for his signature line... "The discipline of the written word punishes stupidity" and that's what I believe.

If you deserve respect then your words will show it. Don't hand me that post count, long time poster, respected poster... all the other caveats boring posters use to try and add credibility that their words do not earn.

Want to show me something, then start writing. The rest of that crap, shove it.

I can't disagree with much of what you wrote but I will take your sentiment of "earned respect" as applied to the anonymous environment of written words several steps further (or lower, depending on your perspective), by saying it is through man's deed's and not his words that respect may be earned - an impossible thing to do just by typing and talking facelessly. Here, we begin with a value of ZERO, Supreme Lord, and the best we can do is to hope to maintain that ZERO - avoid moments of minus one's, minus two's, and so on. Some might even say that beginning with a self-anointing user name is worth about 50 minus points but I speak only for myself. Have a nice day.

Yep. The most telling thing about NCAAcoach was how he disappeared right when the ugly details of the UNC cheating scandal began emerging. I might have respected him if he'd honestly owned it and faced the music here, something like "gee guys, I guess I was wrong, looks like we're not inherently more morally pure than you after all..."

But, NOPE, he ran away and hid as soon as he realized he could no longer self-righteously preach to us about how his program supposedly maintained superior standards of integrity. He was a fraud, much like the whole UNC image is a fraud.

Please stop bashing the Paddock circle jerk boys. You only bring them out of their groupie room. Let them rot in their super cool threads of 10, racking up likes making themselves feel superior while posting about their wife swap and diaper change from the morning before.

Jason is the only one worth a damn and honestly I can't figure out why he even post there. The lamest of the lame.

Is there anyone here with a good enough memory to reconstruct the UK message board evolution? I vaguely remember a message board from probably late '90's that pre-dated all these commercial websites. It was basically just a site some guy had set up on a free message board server. Was that the Rainman board?

NC Wiesel

Weasel remains on my suspect list . . . another that has faded to black as lights have turned bright on unc. In the early days of the unc debate, he played the role of the devil's advocate just a bit too deliberately on their behalf for me to believe that he was completely on our side or, more specifically, in favor of them being punished for clear fraud. What rules have they actually broken? would have been a common question of his during that time. I called him out frequently. But in fairness, I know he handled his "both side of the fence" business similarly on the Radar (a place where it is their side or no side) and he was eventually banned, and it was not long after that he eventually stopped posting on Rafters. He never got banned here. I'm sure of that. So it begged the question: Why would the ban on the Radar be followed no too longer after by him just giving up on Rafters? Discussions on Weasel would emerge as the unc saga grew (e.g. I wonder where Weasel would stand on this now? sort of thing). As I would attempt my theory - that Weasel was perhaps not a UK fan - other posters would say stuff like . . . I know Weasel and he's UK Blue through and through. Don't recall anybody ever explaining how they knew him.

That NC Weasel guy was FOS from the first day. There is literally no reason for a UK fan to live, and he did, on a UNC board. He really only posted there. He's a UNC fan at heart, and probably just didnt have the guts to come out with it.

Weasel's "first day" was probably a couple-three years before mine. Maybe more. And while I'm tempted to believe that he was in fact a unc fan all the while, I would have to accept being astonished by the extent of a mostly neutral effort he committed himself to for years and years on end. A remarkable achievement with that conclusion. Does that make sense or am I giving him too much credit? A person of super high message board acumen or a nut-job, loner, thorazine-ready-for-rubber-room type under-achiever. I mean, what sane person can post on these message boards 15 - 20 thousand times without making it clear who they f'n hate?

BrianBoone - [laughing] that idiot got on here to tell us that he had moved his car a block or two away to see it on Google Earth. He couldn't understand why it didn't show up in the new spot.

- How many of you suckers were ready to meet Kelenna Azabuike and get his autograph?

Dallas, buddy . . .

So, he got himself bashed and likely banned after hammering UNCheat on their board, just to continue a long con on a board you say he rarely posts on? Very odd theory dude.

I saw how he got banned. Check out how easily it can happen over there. He barely mentioned anything and they tossed him. They warn people to not mention the scandal or it's a ban. Even for their own. He didn't "hammer" anything. Just mentioned it in nicely nice tones.

I'll stick with reality. No real UK fan is going to live on a UNC message board. Out of 20,000 post, maybe 1,500 of them were on our boards. He lived for UNC.

Personally, I think he was a UK fan at one time and ended up overly sympathetic to UNC to the point where he actually started supporting them without realizing it, or unable to accept it. Could be wrong I guess.

I used to read their board quite often. The guy lives in NC and has a lot of friends who are UNCheat fans. He tread very lightly on their board, and had a long history on their board, so they gave him way more leeway than they did other fans, but I read all of his posts back when I was reading the board and if he's a UNCheat fan, he did a very good job of hiding it. Why would somebody fake being a UK fan on their board, challenge them when they bashed UK, hold their feet to the fire on the scandal, and then get himself banned? For what? His posting on our board was never very active, probably because living in NC and having UNCheat friends, he was closer to the situation and had friends on their board. Anyway, if he was just faking being a UK fan then why isn't he here now defending UNCheat?

The guy's posting style is very different than most of the posters here, so maybe he didn't feel at home here. I never once got the sense he was faking, and see no logical reason for doing so.

I live in Tennessee, I don't post more on volnation than I do here. I also live in Memphis. I don't post more on Mtigers.org than I do here.

I see hundreds of posters from all over. They don't post like him.

Like I said, I used to read his stuff, and I just think toward the end he started identifying more with UNC than UK. He even stated a few times he preferred UNC boards. I just think he had a hard time seeing that he became a UNC supporter through the years. I could be wrong, but I believe he always said UNC was a second team. I saw the exact thread where he was banned. He was only asking questions about the scandal, and trying to figure out what they thought about it. He wasn't hammering them, or holding their feet to the fire. Heel bent banned him for bringing it up all together.

I could be wrong. But something is really strange about it. I don't really see a logical reason for it myself, but there's some super weirdos around here. Maybe he's just a loon.

I think Jon Scott has a chronology on his site.
