What are you talking about? Democrats are done, they lost the House and they will lose the Senate. Take that to the bank! President Trump raised over $350 million for Republican candidates and Midterm candidates he endorsed won 95% of their races. THAT IS CALLED A HUGE SUCCESS! I’m always curious when the trade deficit shows up on these inane lists. Is it because people don’t understand how economic systems function; or, they don’t want the US to be the global reserve currency; or they are dumb?
The concept is very simple, if you have global mercantilism, you want everyone to buy US products because you want the gold from the buyer to expand your monetary base. Conversely, in a fiat currency world, the goal is to expand your monetary base by having every other country holding your currency. The easiest way to achieve that goal is to buy the other country’s products, in exchange for the seller accepting your currency.
We are the only country in the world that can purchase local products in any country and pay for them using our currency. For reasons that are incomprehensible, there are Americans that believe we would be better off if we manufactured all of our products, devalued our currency and ran a trade surplus.
There isn’t a single country that wouldn’t trade their trade surplus for the economic advantages enjoyed by the US; yet, the author of this list wants Republicans to eliminate the trade deficit. Why?

We have used China as a subcontractor. They amount they make on any product is very low. It's a system that has worked well. What we don't want is China becoming the prime on products, which we seem to be pushing them to become. Foxconn, the company that makes I phones, is pushing into the EV market. EVs are very easy to build so a lot of companies are trying to launch. What we don't want is China dumping cheap EVs on the market.
