Ingram should go first pick in the draft.

Interesting article, and maybe i'm bias'd but.......

This kid went from a stud to a dud very quickly. Nowhere NEAR as high of an impact player as Ingram has been. ESPN's baby boy is absolutely the reason LSU declined the NIT invitation, anything that will save his stat padding reputation and trying to get to the NBA as a #1 pick. Ingram has been clutch for us in so many games, the kid has been thrown in the shadows because of Ben Simmons and his over hyped season. I'm tired of seeing people blame Johnny Jones 100% for Simmons under achievements. Yeah sure, you can put it on the coach all you want, but it boils down to this kid not having a will to win, and having a terrible ego issue. I'm so glad he didn't choose Duke. INGRAM FOR #1!

I couldn't agree more. In the latest mock drafts Brandon Ingram is number one.

While I think Simmons and Ingram are both worthy of the #1 pick, I think it will come down to what team is making the selection. (Also would help if Brandon explodes these next few weeks.)
Sixers: Have 4 guys (ALL 4's and 5's) Jahlil, Embiid, Noel, Saric and then have ZERO other pieces. Probably will go Simmons (and I hope they do, for Brandon's sake)
However, a team like the T-Wolves, 2 main pieces are Wiggins and Towns. Ingram makes much more sense, because he gives them a perimeter threat. And I feel like Simmons overlaps Wiggins way too much.

My dream is for the Bucks (projected to pick around 7, but who knows) to win the lottery. They desperately need shooting, and Simmons definitely doesn't fit with Antetokoumpo. A trio of Ingram, Antetokoumpo, and Jabari would be thrilling!

I saw three games Simmons played this year and the guy was an absolute stud in all three. He was Magic Johnson but a better rebounder. It surprises me to no end how his talent led to almost no team success.

This is probably heresy on this board -- but I'd still draft Simmons #1. I think he's largely the victim of a dysfunctional program and poor coaching; rather the source of the problems there. I like Ingram. I think he will be a good pro. But, Ingram -- like most college freshman -- has had his up and down moments where he not only hasn't played very well, but hasn't played with energy, focus, and hunger -- whether it be during his early season struggles, the road game at Louisville, or even the ND game in the ACCs. IMO, the difference between Simmons / Ingram is that Ingram had someone like Coach K to help him mature and develop, and a better supporting cast that could pick him up when he was down. For instance, when BI was a no-show in the pre-season tourney, Allen carried us. Same @ Louisville and against ND in the ACCs (in losses). IMO, if you swapped Ingram and Simmons from their respective teams, I frankly think Duke would be as good or better; and LSU would be as bad or worse. I think infrastructure and coaching has a lot to do with how both of their college careers have panned out / are perceived. In the end of day, I think Simmons is the safer pick and the most likely of the two to become a star. And, I'd add, it's not as if Simmons has had a bad year. He's averaging 19.2 ppg, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2 steals, on 56% shooting. Those numbers compare very favorably to BI's production.

It will be a tough choice for some GM, and he has to live with it. But I don't think one can go wrong either way.

Dsouthr will not agree with this at all because he says no NBA GM will stick his neck out for Ingram.

I like Simmons if I'm picking #1. Love Brandon, but there's a lot to like about Ben.

Simmons has all the physical skills, I think he was just on a horrible team with a poor coach. I would choose him over BI now, but BI may end up the better pro.
Both are great picks!

Remember, this is not the NBA of 10 years ago. If you are a non-center, you have to be able to shoot. That is why I would go Ingram.
Plus the fact that it seemed like Simmons' teammates didn't like him, would really scare me. Brandon is younger, as well.

I like Ingram, but Simmons is an absolute stud. Hands down #1 pick for me. If Ingram could "go off" for 35-40 minutes a game in the NCAAT, I would feel a lot better about him being a #1 or #2 pick. Might even change my mind about the #1 selection.
Go Duke!!

I'd take our fella Ingram over simmons with the number one pick for a multitude of reasons. The top two reasons being for me are 1) the fact I'm an ULTRA HOMER and 2) the fact that right now it's a coin toss for who is the more talented of the two. Which is exactly why I'm taking Ingram - I'm no jay bilas talent evaluator aficionado but in my eyes simmons is MUCH closer to his development pinnacle before going pro and was basically the same player from their first scrimmage game to their last sec tourney game. Whereas Ingram I feel has (even through a mini hitting the wall the past few game) totally been on an incline talent wise as his season progressed. And I just truly believe that Ingram (as close as he already is) will bypass simmons in potential and overall skill rather quickly, perhaps as early as this summer and that in my eyes will transfer into a much more successful nba career. Ingram = KD & Simmons = close to Westbrook

I really liked Simmons in the very limited time that I saw him play. Because of his lack of shooting, how much better than McRoberts is he? Remember, McRoberts played against much older competition in college on average.

With Ingram, he is a much better shooter, zero maintenance, and he is a full year younger.

It was confirmed that coach K said this will be Ingrams first and only NCAA tournament. Not surprising though. I hope he goes number one!!
