Long and Powell injuries have been major.
At least Monangai said he’s going to be ok and he’s the most important.
I didn't think Long would have such a major impact but it has. We have no deep threat outside of Jackson. None of the young speedsters have stepped up. Washington and Dremel are mostly possession guys. We can't go into next season without some added vets in the portal.
He looked like he ran into a moving brick wall yesterday. He got clocked hard. Those corn-fed Iowa kids were a level of tough that he had not blocked against.
If you can't stretch the field it's too easy for D1-level dbs on top teams (BIG or any major conference) to cover the intermediate routes and cheat-up to stop running plays. Our lack of homerun threat at WR is a major problem.
Maybe it's just my perspective but I do not think losing the starters that we have has been the reason that we've lost the games we have or not being as competitive in others. For the most part, depth or adjustments by Harysimiak have been enough to compensate. We're not as deep as we'd like to be, of course. But our real problem is the limitations of our offense.
Thought Konga played yesterday…. Someone said Ahanatu was supposed to play but didn’t. Need him back for the PSU game. Powell is our best Defensive player… huge loss. Perhaps he can return for the Bowl game.
My wife got up and proclaimed, "I'm not doing this" and walked out of the living room for the rest of the game in disgust. We've been married for 12 yrs. she thought we were always going to have winning seasons, little did she know, I spun my web of Rutgers fandom on false pretenses.
I've been telling her loving Rutgers Sports is an unrequited love. She started out during Schiano I so she thought success was the norm. LOL. Oh my Sweet Summer Wife.
There's a line from a somewhat obscure band I listen to a lot: "Loving you is like loving the dead." Seems to fit a love of Rutgers sports. Have they calmed down on the hoops board yet?
The one that ended his day was from a blocking collision with our safety.
Our offense sucks but our defense is an ornery bunch.
That hurt me watching on TV. And I fell from a second story ladder once and got up and kept working.
Also the QB not being able to deliver accurate passes!
