Looking at the latest top 30 I could not help but wonder about the comment Edgy made about #18 Nequa Valley and their injuries. I was at the game on Friday (a 28-21 loss to Lake Park) and it was obvious that NV best player was hobbled. I could not figure out why, when NV already has a playoff spot secured, that they would not be resting players and getting ready for playoffs.
So that brings us to week 9. Do teams that have already qualified start resting players and allow their injured kids to rest and heel? If so, how would that affect some key games?

For high schools, this is much different than the NFL... In the NFL you have your spot clinched, you rest your players. In high school, every game counts so much... Every loss puts you in a worse seed which will cause you to play better teams erlier on in the playoffs. There are plenty of teams out there that could have been quarterfinalists, semifinalists, heck even finalists based on the draw that they get from their seed, but they faced a good opponent too early in the playoffs and their season ended.
