Now that there's one portal window, he can't wait until after spring practice. My guess is he transferred here expecting to compete for the starting job after Sellers left for the draft after this season. That whole plan is blown up now. Unless he's cut from an entirely different cloth than just about every other player out there, I can't see him spending a 3rd year of eligibility on the bench. I'm sure Beamer would give him the speech that he can compete for the starting job in the spring, but he knows Sellers will be the presumed starter.

If I remember correctly, he came in after Woods in the Coastal Carolina game so that made him 4th string? Doty is now gone so he is guaranteed at least 3rd string if he stays. I don't think he was any string at Ohio State so he is doing better here. I'm sure Beamer is selling he can compete for second string here with a new OC. Maybe Noland knows he needs more time in a program and development before becoming a SEC level starting QB and sticks around?

He could probably win the starting job at a number of P4 schools if he is anywhere near as good as people here said he was when he came.

He may not be a top level SEC QB, but he could likely win the job at a lower level ACC or B1G program. I'd think he'd much rather be a starter at Wake Forest than spend another year watching Sellers play.

He looked absolutely terrible in the Coastal Game. I am sorry to say that and I know he is a Gamecock but he did. I realize it is a small sample size. I understand that. But he had one play where he threw a pass into the end zone to a receiver and it truly looked like the ball must have slipped out of his hand it was such a poor pass. I actually hope it did slip out of his hand.

Also, he completely throws off his back foot on every throw.

I would be downright impressed if he was that self-aware. Almost no players are these days. Everyone's a legend in their own mind.

Problem is, players would rather transfer somewhere like a G5 program to play and develop and then transfer back to P4 rather that sit on the bench and develop.

G5 will become the minor leagues

I predicted Dante Reno will be back
