I am not sure I would write him off so quickly. He would bring considerable assets with him plus he is a pretty good coach. IN three years he is 8-5, 12-3 and 11-1. You can't question his ability to manage an organization.

I am not a cheerleader for him, I just think he is interesting.

Joe Moglia from Coastal Carolina for everyone who has no idea what JM stands for so you don't have to click on a wiki link.

Never heard of the guy but I could fathom Coastal Carolina even beating us this past season.

If we're going to the FCS ranks, why not the coach at North Dakota State (who Nebraska would have been much better off hiring) or Turner Gill at Liberty. I know Gill struggled at Kansas but who, besides Mark Mangino, hasn't struggled at Kansas? GIll was successful at Buffalo and he had Liberty (who is contemplating the jump to FBS) playing at a high level this year.

Probably right. ND State is still good this year. Wyoming was much improved this year as well. Maybe we should be chasing that guy.

Craig Bohl has been at the top of my list since the middle of the season. I am not sure why we haven't looked at him. 3 straight FCS championships is pretty impressive. He is 4-8 at Wyoming this year but it is his first year so give him time. Maybe that Wyoming record is what scares people off. No doubt about it though, the guy can coach.

Bruce Feldman tweeted today that Scott Frost (Oregon OC) has emerged as a candidate. Definitely a candidate way out of left field, I think. Nebraska wanted him but he turned them down. Closest he's ever been to Oklahoma was a brief stint at Kansas State years ago. Just wondering if anyone has heard any other rumors?

Moderator of this board tweeted that Frost, Rhett Lashlee, and Matt Wells were involved. Lashlee and Wells were a given. Frost makes sense. Nebraska going with Mike Riley over Frost does not

No doubt. Either the media was in shock, or they have no sense of humor, no chuckling in the background. The funniest part in my mind was how serious he was, doesn't appear he was trying to be funny guy.

We had Frost on our list of possible candidates back on Dec. 1st. He's been in the picture the entire week and met with TU officials, which was in our article this morning. There is much more info on Scott Frost, Matt Wells and the search in general in our articles and our premium message board (Hurricane Alley). Here are a few links...

Kind of interesting that both Wells and Frost were considered serious candidates for the Nebraska job early in their process. Who knows how legit those reports were, but they sure made the rounds across the interwebs.
