Interesting...if you take out the human factor, WISC a solid 1, and more...

Below is what the seeds would look like if you take 5 well known computer rankings(RPI, BPI, KenPom, Sagarin, Massey) and just add up the rankings for each team(lowest score being best, obviously. I though this was interesting to see what it looks like without regard to human factors, such as geography, etc.

1: UK-5; UVA-16; WISCONSIN-18; VILLANOVA-24

2: DUKE-24; ARIZONA-25; KANSAS 35; GONZAGA-35

3-UTAH-64; UNC-65; OKLAHOMA-65; IOWA STATE -66

4-BAYLOR-68;N.IOWA-69; LOUISVILLE-72; WICHITA STATE -74

5-NOTRE DAME-76; WEST VA-100; G'TOWN-104; MARYLAND- 106

6-BUTLER 112; MICH STATE-114; SMU 120; OHIO STATE- 120

7-ARKANSAS -122; DAVIDSON 132; IOWA-135; TEXAS-142

8-PROVIDENCE 152; XAVIER -163; BYU -166; VCU -172

9-ST JOHN'S 173; GOEORGIA-176; SD STATE-178; NC STATE-183

10-OKLAHOMA STATE-193; DAYTON-201; LSU-204; OREGON-209

11-OLE MISS-211; CINCINNATI-213;SF AUSTIN-219; BOISE STATE -220

12-PURDUE-220; TEXAS A&M-236; COLORADO ST-246; STANFORD-248

13-ILLINOIS-258; INDIANA -259; UCLA-261; VANDY-262

Geography should only come into play when rewarding teams in seeding.

Villanova is a solid team and I respect them but they aren't in the elite class and they haven't played anybody which has led to a gaudy W-L record....all the numbers bear that out

Everyone on the planet realizes Wisconsin should be a 1 seed. It won't make any difference.

Listen, before they lost their last regular season game, GONZAGA was a 1 seed. If that doesn't illustrate the lunacy of the selection process, nothing will.

We're obviously just going to complain and crunch numbers and point out the obvious, and then eventually play Wisconsin in the E8.

Thanks for the work, good info.

I believe Duke and Arizona both roll Nova if they were to meet.

Looks good, except you need to switch Duke and Nova. Clearly Duke gets the nod in a tie breaker over Nova due to having more impressive wins. Hey, we have to use the human factor and common sense on that one IMO.

If there was a tie, I didn't pick one over another, just listed them. I agree Duke should be over Nova.
