This Friday will bring hopefully a couple of great games to the lights of our local fields. First up

Morris vs sycamore
This is a very important game in the conference this week Reddingers redskins vs McConkeys Spartans this game will be a absolute barn burner. I get the feel the only people wanting the Spartans to win are just the people in sycamore. I’m just not sure if Morris can withstand the constant pressure

This is a game of redemption for both teams and sandwich is in a absolute must win situation in order to even have a chance at a post season birth . This looks like another very close game and I’ve got to go for my home town boys

I’m sorry to say this will be another banner game for the lopsided 8 conference and will be over shortly after the kickoff whistle blows

I don’t know enough about most of these teams to offer scores. I can only comment on Morris. They’ve never beat Sycamore at this level. Freshman year our quarterback had a broken leg. Sophomore year he was starting on the varsity due to injury. I’m sure most people here know who son is . I think It will be a great game. And I appreciate anyone rooting for them.

Morris (4-1) @ Sycamore (4-1): Both teams have been rolling here since their early season losses. Morris who seems to be getting better by the week is lead by do it all QB Reddinger and the two running back Phelps and Landers. Sycamore has an excellent QB of their own in McConkey and a great athlete in Dominguez. I think this is the game of the week in the I8. I like Morris with the slight upset here. Morris 27 Kaneland 21

Rochelle (1-4) @ Sandwich (2-3): Jrc had it right, this is a must win for Sandwich. I watched Rochelle and Morris play a quarter final game two years ago and loved the way the Hubs play football. Thought they might of actually out played Morris that game. But this is a different team and they really don’t have a shot at the playoffs. I’m also taking the Indians here. Sandwich 21 Rochelle 17

Kaneland (4-1) @ Plano (2-3): Kaneland has been racking up the wins and the points on offense. Plano has had a few wins but can’t seem to put anything together consistently. I think the Reapers put up a good fight but get wore down by the Knights. Kaneland 42 Plano 13

Lasalle Peru (4-1) @ Ottawa (1-4): Ottawa took a beat down from the Redskins last week. Hopefully they stopped to get some Pam’s Dance Academy’s corn dogs at Corn Fest on their way out of town. LP has been a surprise in my eyes this year. Big turn around from their 3 wins last year. LP gets playoff eligible and probably their last win in the I8 this season. LP 34 Ottawa 7

GOOOO Redskins. If they win I'd say it'd be an upset. Morris is a very good 4A team. But I really think Sycamore is a very very good 5A team. At least I'm hoping as they kicked our ***. We had a bit of an off night but they handled us good. I'm picking upset. Its Sycamores turn for an off night against a trending upward Morris team. MORRIS 22-21.

Plano at KANELAND. I don't know anything about play no really, just going by what everyone else is saying. KNIGHTS 42-7

Rochelle at SANDWICH. Just played both teams and I got to go with Sandwich. Like I said before, those Indians kept coming, but the hubs, well they kind of seized up until our JV went in. INDIANS 21-14

LP at Ottawa. I don't know what happened with ottowa. Like I said beforeI thought they had a decent quarterback. Maybe he is but he just have no one to throw to? I'm here in LP is better than and many years past. But the top part of their schedule is coming up. LP 36-0.

Morris -Sycamore should be a real good game. Both teams come ready to play. Sycamore two years ago gave Montini all they could handle and Montini just scrapped by with the win. I was impressed with the toughness of those kids.

I got a freshman at Kaneland. Our fresh are pretty good but low numbers, 19.

Sycamore beat us 34-26. Good game. Back and forth battle.

Morris Varsity Beat Sycamore at their place 2017, 28-11 it was a rainy/sloppy game, ended up runner-up next to Rochester. Morris beat Sycamore in 2016, 28-13 went onto the semi-finals lost to Peoria. Morris also won in 2014 18-15. So last 5 games favor Redskins 3-2...

Sycamores only loss this year was to DeKalb . They are a good 7a team that should make the playoffs. First game of the year they went down to Peoria and beat a always good Washington 6a team.. Go Redskins.

I’m sorry. I meant the senior class. They beat us bad as Freshman and Sophomores, in part for the reasons I mentioned. Should be a good one. I’m intrigued by the Freshman game as well. Morris has large numbers and good players in the Freshman and Sophomores classes
