This is a great week in terms of matchups. Not many huge implications for playoffs or anything but most of the teams seem evenly matched.....here we go!
Braidwood @Manteno- Slopfest of the week......Could be Manteno's best shot at a win.....Could be Braidwood's best shot at a conference win. Nothing to win here except a little pride.....As much as it kills me to do so and it goes against my gut I am going to say that Braidwood pulls the upset. Injuries have killed Manteno and they have to be deflated at this point. Braidwood knew they wouldn't be that great this year so they will be more amped for this road win......Braidwood 42 Manteno 24
Plano @Coal City- Will Skubic be back? Don't think it matters much here, but it does prevent this game from being the lock of the week.....Still unsure on how good or bad the Reapers are......They have beat two bad teams and lost to two meh teams.....Coal City 28 Plano 7
Sandwich @Streator- Lock of the week! Don't think Sandwich is world beaters by any means but Streator is really not good. Should be an easy win for the Indians as long as they arn't hungover from the loss to Wilmo and looking ahead to next week with CC. Sandwich 35 Streator 14
Lisle @Herscher- Lisle is sitting in a great spot. More wins mean a higher seed come playoff time. They have a slight slide in the schedule and are really tested in the last two weeks. Herscher let RC score way too many points on them. Was the Klein factor in effect or are they just not as good as we originally thought. They haven't beat a high quality team yet. I like Lisle to remain unbeaten. If this was on turf I'd make this lock of the week. Lisle ......BIG! Lisle 42 Herscher 12
Peotone @Wilmington- Game of the week! This game could have the most implications for the rest of the season and since Reents has been there, Wilmo has almost always came out victorious against the 'tone. Both teams are capable of winning and this game will be a punch ya in the mouth, ground and pound effort. Can't pick against a team that had damn near 500 yards rushing last week. It's at Becker Field AKA the greatest Friday night environment in the state and the townies will be there to support the cats. Close game. Hard fought game. Wilmington 26 Peotone 24 ......Side bet on number of Harleys riding the boys out of the tunnel....O/U is set at 12.5....I'll take the over!
Feel free to discuss and agree or argue. Great week in 3a and 4a football!
