But you also respect the heck out of the non-team player Mo, so you saying it doesn't mean muchThat is fair. I respect the heck out of Gabe and the team player he is.
Mo is a team player. You don't even know Mo. Ask Gabe what kind of a man Mo is if you want a fair opinion. Maybe Phil would like to comment on Mo's character? But you also respect the heck out of the non-team player Mo, so you saying it doesn't mean much
holy ****, are you actually trying to compare Gabe going to 197 and Barr going to 197?No. He bumped from 174 to 197 exactly like Gabe Arnold.
Your point? Gabe was projected as a 184 in the Big board rankings where Barr was a 174. Barr was already way taller so that can't be what you mean. Barr was walking around at 194 last year and Gabe was just as heavy if not a bit bigger. One coach had his guy cut to 174 while the other didn't. Brands knew PK and MK were back at 165 and 174. He knew Angelo was a 184. Gabe would have had a very good season at 197 from the git go but they choose to bring in a 197 transfer instead. What part of that is too difficult for you? It was mismanaged by Brands. You guys deserve what you get - you defended it long enough that now it seems ok. Gabe was amazing with the deck stacked against him, but the dealer that stacked the deck against him is the coach you keep defending. Carry on.holy ****, are you actually trying to compare Gabe going to 197 and Barr going to 197?
Whatās that old sayingā¦itās better to keep your mouth shut and let people think youāre an idiot, than open it and leave no doubt? Something like that
Two distinctly different body types. Gabe has no business at 197. NONE. He weighed in fully fed at 190. That is an AVERAGE 174. Not even one really cutting hard weight.Your point? Im not defending anybody. Im saying you comparing Barr to Gabe at 197 is an absolutely absurd take. I guess everyone, not just Iowa fans, talking about how impressive it was for him to AA at 197 are just idiots. Has there ever even been another 5ā6ā AA at 197?Your point? Lisa, since you said you canāt find a big enough tampon to fit, try a nuclear warhead. So cute how people are crying tears of joy over a sawed off mental case finishing 7th.
Arnold will be a title contender next year at 174. Book it.
Weak sauce.Lisa, since you said you canāt find a big enough tampon to fit, try a nuclear warhead.
That was my point. PSU had a plan and Brands simply let what happened happen. Gabe was put in this situation by these coaches. Why was he cutting to 174 for the Salute? Once Mo was gone why wasn't he given matches at 197 instead of 174. They had him cut to 174 for the PSU dual when they already knew he would go 197 in the post season. It was an amazing effort by Gabe, but it should have never been asked. Do you really think that was handled correctly?
Heāll be fine if he can get that offense rolling; heās got all the tools.Crazy to think Gabe was ranked ahead of Josh Barr coming out of high school. Coaching matters.
Max Dean looked life a dwarf next to Warner too. Gabe did really well against many taller guys. When did I ever say it wasn't impressive that he achieved AA status? Your straw man argument is weak sauce. Do you think that was managed correctly by this coaching staff? Talk about idiots out wandering around!Im not defending anybody. Well considering EVERYONE is saying what an accomplishment it isā¦ya i think they did a DAMN good job preparing him. How high was he going to need to place for you to say, ānice coaching job TnT!ā? He did an amazing job, but the guys who put him behind the 8 ball did a less than stellar job putting him there unseeded and more undersized than he had to be. If you are happy with how all of this was handled from the Mo situation to Gabe not getting matches at 197 nobody is going to change your mind. Gabe improved handling the size of these guys as the tournament went. He was much better at NCAA than he was at the BIG. I believe he would have been even better with 10 more matches under his belt at 197. He made the absolute best of a bad situation. I think he deserved better.Well considering EVERYONE is saying what an accomplishment it isā¦ya i think they did a DAMN good job preparing him. Minto to 184 start a threadWould love to see Minto vs Gabe at 174 next year. Contrast in body types.
Truth be told Gabe achieved the impossible in my opinion. Wrestling up 2 weights I thought going 2-2 would have been impressive. Achieving AA? Just WOW! He wanted it bad!!That was my point. Not to get involved but major weak sauce would be using the old outdated idiots out......Max Dean looked life a dwarf next to Warner too. Gabe did really well against many taller guys. If that's truly the case then don't post pointless sh*t like you did. Just compliment and congratulate and move on, the rest of the commentary is unnecessary. That is fair. I respect the heck out of Gabe and the team player he is.
He was a huge 165 and a huge 174.Minto to 184 start a thread
You read every post I type. You are my personal nut sucker.Gabe did 2 things Mo couldn't do AA and be a team player. Now hes getting recruited over in Ames with Novak. Just put theon ignore . The way others are responding I can tell he's pouting his boy Mo didn't get it done. He's a Penn St fan here to start problems. He probably has never met Mo
Great video to watch of Gabe and Bader.
Just a short summary he talked about being "removed" from the team, being back on, going between the 3 weights, towards the end of the video he said he's preparing for the US open at 79 KG
