See the link below. From the article:

Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz has received a contract extension through the 2029 season, it was announced Friday.

Ferentz, 66, just completed his 23rd season at Iowa and is the nation's longest-tenured coach. He will earn $7 million annually during the new contract -- a $500,000 base salary, $5.5 million in supplemental compensation and a $1 million longevity bonus.

Ferentz had been previously signed through 2025 and was set to earn $5.1 million next season.”

Actually as a successor to JoePa, before JoePa actually gave it up, I was hoping that Ferentz or Fitzgerald from Northwestern would become Joe's successor.

I think most thought the same or at least saw that they would fit the mold.

Wow. Iowa pays him 7 million. He is 66, not like he is going anywhere else. Amazing they paid him that much.

Well their administration did have to negotiate after a successful season.

Thought the world of KF until he tolerated the nonsense on his sideline this year vs PSU. Now I smell a rat when I think of him.
Then there is this.

"Ferentz’s decision to dissolve the group came after a contentious meeting Oct. 18 and after committee chair David Porter, former Hawkeye offensive lineman, suggested to the group in a chain of text message Jan. 2 that it’s time to “bring in a new head football coach, football staff, and athletic director.”

In the chain of messages, Porter said Ferentz is “loyal to a fault” and will “fall on the sword for his son and his staff because he thinks it’s the right thing to do. I disagree.”

“The only way I see to save his legacy, protect the program, help those kids, and continue to move forward at the same time is for Kirk to retire,” he wrote."
