Don't know a thing about Curie this year. But, if they were undefeated, got to the quarter finals and lost to the number 6 team in the state by only a few points in the last minute and did this with a less talented roster - then yeah, I guess.

And played nobody.

On Saturday night they played somebody and came close to beating that somebody.
Which goes to show you that on any given Saturday pretty much any team can beat any team. Let's not forget MSU won a ridiculous game against Michigan when a last second punt was botched by Michigan. Just because they "got close" to someone in one game doesn't make them a top ranked team. Personally I thought Iowa was overrated. Still do.

This whole "playoff" thing is a joke. They are more worried about conference representation than just going with the top four teams. The NCAA should just be truthful and say they don't want more than one team from any conference in the final playoffs.

This reminds me of all the complaining I see here from guys who say the IHSA is more concerned about regional representation when the playoffs start.

Well, they beat the team that beat MSU, they beat the team that beat Stanford. But, if they were blown out on Sat night by MSU, id would be right with you, though maybe not the Curie example. And I was one of the many who took Sparty and gave the 3 1/2. Screwed! Iowa maybe the only example of a team with less talent that is getting wins by, what was it ? "coach harder, play harder"? Anyway, I plan on recouping my losses by taking Stanford minus 6.5. If I loose again, it's all you fault.

They had a nice W at Nwestern but no Michigan, MSU, Ohio St on regular season schedule. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Scratch Curie (the comparison came up due their erstwhile position of runner up to Hubbard and the Vincennes Ave duo). Lincoln Way West pre LWN closure might be more apt. Smaller enrollment, more successful programs to the East in LWE and LWN (LWC as a slumbering Illini) with access to the edge of South Suburban and CCL diaspora talent, and coaching.

I could handle SEC fanboys. I could handle CCL fanboys, but dang I never thought I'd see SEC-CCL fanboys. The Dr. may have pointed out that while at the personal/familial HS level, we want to see the best play the best regardless of geography, but many (including myself) get out of shape if a B1G team gets bumped for 2 SEC teams.

If we want to talk about how messed up the NCAA is then edgy better start charging higher, bc he doesn't have the bandwidth to go over that.

The biggest travesty as we talk right now is that Keenan Reynolds isn't in Heisman finalists.
