The 2019-2021 success was due to Penn State having a young program in a rebuilding process. Also the 2020 Covid year is void(you can say whatever you want). 2021 NCAA’s especially felt like a let down for you guys when Penn State had 4 national champs to Iowa’s 1. Throughly enjoyed today’s dual meet, instant classic.
That played a small part but Iowa was loaded during this period of time. If you recall, they actually got top recruits during this period of time. Lol. Oh and the only one to win a title was Spencer.

Not only have the Brands failed to close the gap on PSU but poor recruiting has allowed others to catch Iowa for 2nd. Okie St will pass Iowa by next year and leave them in their dust.

This isn't just on the Brands. The fanbase has been very apologetic for the Brands failures over the years. This has been building for years. Next year could get ugly.
Yep!

I feel like our wrestling teams over the last couple of years are comparable to the Iowa football teams when Brian ferentz was the offensive coordinator.

Caliendo is our cooper Dejean but without him, we do not generate much offense.

Maybe our AD puts in a metric where we must have a first period takedown in 50 percent of our matches or we have a complete overhaul of the coaching staff.

TNT’s failure to get rid of our yes men assistant coaches is on them for sure!! Also why keep both Tom and Terry, they’re the same f#%^#*%g guy!!! I’ve been a season ticket holder for 25 years and this year said no more. Transfers at half our weights with no loyalty to Iowa was the last straw for me. I know this will anger the apologists but I’m old and I can’t take this 💩 anymore!!!

Wow, the one sport I have confidence that we can beat ISU in, we lose.

Genuinely, I don't think Iowa will beat Iowa State in another sport this year. Just a brutal turning of the tides for our athletic department.
That's the reality. Basketball is gonna get ugly.

Iowa transfers went 2-3 (Peterson, Caliendo; Bailey, Williams, Endene).

ISU transfers went 2-2 (Zerban, Elam; Poulin, Dean).

In transfer-vs.-transfer matches, Iowa went 1-2.

I'm not surprised or particularly upset by the outcome. We knew it would be close. It was an entertaining dual, with good wrestling from both teams. Peterson showed more offense. Block wrestled with confidence and gave himself the opportunity to win. Caliendo looked good. Kennedy & Ferrari both took 100% of the shots in their matches.

Iowa actually has an above-average team this year (100+ point potential), but so do five other teams (PSU, Ohio St, Ok St, Iowa St, Neb). Iowa will probably end up 4th, as usual. Now you not only have to win the recruiting battle, you have to win the transfer battle. My opinion on how Iowa is doing on those fronts didn't change based on today.

Kudos to ISU.

At this point, the only sure fire AA's are Caliendo and Ferrari.

Likely AA at 133, 174....but not a lock at either
Good chance at 125, 149, 197 & Hwt
No shot at 133, 157

Could see IOWA anywhere from 4th to 8th

The credit goes to Gaitan with some hellacious grip strength on that last ride.
Gaitan is a counter wrestler. Probably has never taken a legit shot in his life.

Kennedy was gassed by the start of the 3rd period. I don't want to use the "he was sick" excuse, but something was off today.

When Williams stopped wrestling, that gave up a bonus point, didn’t it? If that is the result of the dual, he should be done.
It sure did. He quit and really didn't require anything other than taking a simple step to not get majored. Cut his *** now and be done with it.

Dresser is incorrect about beating a great team. This is an average to barely above average team.
He actually said that? 😂 Of course he did. 😂

Nobody should be surprised with this result in any way. It was a tossup from the start, and Iowa State finally got one to go their way, so give them some credit. Iowa got exactly what they earned as a Team.

Still cracks me up that during the match, every 3rd post here referred to stalling calls, or the lack thereof. Y'all refuse to move on from that way of earning points, yet you blame the coaching staff and wrestlers after a loss. Iowa got out-wrestled, simple as that.

She will read it right after she gets your Pizza Bites out of the microwave.

TnT should be able to coach Iowa until they are ready to retire and have Nelson take over the program.
I now understand why your "posts to likes" ratio is so pathetic. 👍
