I am so pumped right now, I'm proud to be part of the Hawkeye nation. I want to congratulate these FIVE young men and their families you will have a huge support system.
The interview was great the way the boys got together and committed was fantastic and bringing the fathers in to give their thoughts about the reasons was fantastic also. Go Hawks!
Edit ; All FIVE of these recruits.
Great Job by the Hawkeye staff the current team and the HWC. It is very apparent how much they all work together for one cause and doing it with Integrity!

Honestly, I think they filled that Bassett gap VERY well. Losing Miller will sting the worst, but hey, this is a damn good second option!
I was wondering if we would have been able to pull this haul off of we still had Bassett and Miller? I would still love to have all.

I thought the same. Probably not??? That's based purely on weights. I also don't know how NIL would have factored in, but my guess is with the Miller/Bassett NIL fund opening back up, it probably helped getting them. However, I believe one of the kids stated that both sets of parents told their kids not to worry about NIL and pick the school best for you. One of them (I think) mentioned that he didn't even know the NIL amount. SOmething like that.

Both claimed not to know. Bachman said he told his dad not to tell him until he commits.

NIL isn't the factor it once was with the NIL GO clearinghouse. Also now HS kids have to disclose the HS NIL money they received they have to disclose that within 14 days of enrolling in college. The new NIL is revenue sharing because that $ doesn't have to pass the clearinghouse

overall I like this better. Yes we lost 3 top guys but we got 5 and no drama, plus we maintain a good PA pipeline and continue the NJ one. I love our guys, looking forward to following these guys intently through the rest of the their HS careers and into the Hawk nation!

there is 2-3 guys who could end up at Bassett's weight, but who is replacing the lose of Melvin, who probably ends up 174. I know we will have Gabe for 2 years after this year. Is there anyone high level in 28 class for future 174 that may have interest in us?

Maybe... maybe not. Those 5 guys plus the previous commits are split between years.
