Would be nice to grab 4 of 5 in the 2nd half...
I'll take the under

tOSU looked VERY impressive all weekend. To wreck Nebraska and Iowa like that was something to behold.
But...has anyone told them it's mid-November? They looked like a team hell bent on winning an interesting and fun, yet relatively meaningless tournament. It's FOUR months until Nationals and they definitely gave me a "peak way too early" vibe.
I might be proven very wrong come March. We'll see.
That’s where I am at too.
The funny thing is if Block doesn’t get screwed by the ref or have the brain fart at the end and Kueter was able to go then the Hawks still beat them.
Feb 6 just a lot more interesting though. There will be some hungry Hawkeyes
He is definitely a big wild card for their success. If he can actually hold 125 all season and be this affective in march, he could be a legit title contender. I was arguing it before when they were seeded over OkState that they are a team of legit AA contenders damn near top to bottom, with 197 probably being the one least likely to get there...They may very well falter in March, but this version has Saturday Night potential at 125, 133, 141, 157 and 285. 174 and 184 are mid tier AA types. Stiles and Gallagher are fringe AA types to round it out. Interesting to see if they can wrestle with the same energy in March...Bouzakis has a massive weight cut and this dual was 10 hours post weigh in. Does he pick Peterson completely off the ground defending a shot coming right off the scale? The Feb dual has an easy (in terms of planning not execution) path to victory. Sweep the back half which we did minus Kueter who’s 3-0 vs Feldman, win 149, don’t get pinned. Other things could happen like winning 125, winning 133 (maybe, Drake looked off all weekend), Williams not getting majored and possibly winning 157, Mo could rightfully be awarded a fall, etc. But none of that even matters if the first part goes according to plan.
The dual was decided and their top guy was banged up and then their backup got hurt this weekend. WTF were they supposed to do, get someone possibly more hurt to wrestle a match that doesn't matter???
There is a reason why McCrone wrestles the morning and Bouzakis wrestles the evening session. They won’t have that luxury from here on out.Bouzakis has a massive weight cut and this dual was 10 hours post weigh in. Hey, there's Gilman! You know, if USADA still can't find him for...reasons.
I’m not giving up on 133 yet. Davino might just be better, but I have to see it happen again. Ayala and Caliendo both looked off all weekend. I’m the same way with Lockett-Caliendo, I need to see it again before I make a judgement. There is a reason why McCrone wrestles the morning and Bouzakis wrestles the evening session. Right now, we have no answer for 33 and 41 against them but, we do at 25, 49, Hwt for the dual meet and after
Iowa still living rent free in Gilman’s head. Spencer really messed him up mentally
Is getting caught or not showing up for your test worse than FFing?
Gilman being Gilman. Maybe spend a few minutes on your own issues.
Caliendo did appear to be off just a hair all weekend. The refs didn't do him any favors in the Lockett match, but it felt like he was more into countering than creating his own offense, and he's great at both. He'll be wrestling on Saturday Night and getting beat by the best college wrestler in the country again. Not worried about him at all.I’m not giving up on 133 yet. Agreed. In Tom Ryan’s post meet interview last night he talked about his team buying in all summer. Unclear exactly what he meant by that but it sure looked like they are in mid season form already while Nebraska/Iowa and others aren’t. Good for them. One thing is for sure, it’s gonna make for a very salty dual in Columbus this year.tOSU looked VERY impressive all weekend. To wreck Nebraska and Iowa like that was something to behold.
