It’s hard to phantom a road to victory in Mackey tonight. I’m seeing 78-63 Boilers.

Honestly, if Iowa could keep it that close, it would be pretty good. Or maybe Purdue suffers its second loss to a team from Iowa, ISU having embarrassed them in West Lafayette a while back. I don't see how the Hawkeyes win this one, but if Wisconsin can win @ Michigan, which they did, maybe Iowa can pull a huge, gigantic, incredible upset. It's been a long time. (BTW: Wisconsin also won, by three, @ Minnesota last night. Damn, I hate the Badgers. They just keep going, and I don't know how.)

I'm going out near the end of a thin limb ..........

Iowa loses, but it'll end up a lot closer than the last couple of games would indicate it will be. They will get down by a bigger deficit, ala the last 2 games, but will fight back and make it quite interesting.

Purdue wins by 11 to 13, but mostly due to a late parade to the foul line.


Oh, and even crazier, Hausen gets at least a couple of minutes of playing time tonight.

Slight advantage to Iowa is Purdue's next 4 games won't be cakewalks - with combining the knowledge of Iowa's last 2 games and knowing they've got a bit of a tough stretch looming, maybe making tonight a "look ahead" or "trap game" for PU.

To have any chance in this game, they have to do a better job of keeping the ball in front of them. Sickness or not, they have not done a very good job of this since the start of the 2nd half of the UCLA game.

Yeah, beating a top 8 (or so) team at their place is not easy, especially at Mackey

Or you leave with an upset victory, like many good teams tend to do to their opponent.

Three straight losses can be very deflating - Hasn't happened to McCollum in over 10 years.

Shoot the three well. Guard the three well.

ISU was out-rebounded, was called for way more personal fouls, and shot 6 free throws to Purdue's 14. And the clones still crushed them.


Get through perimeter screens and get a hand in the face quickly.

That's hard to fathom it's been that long, but Ben is the one coach that won't let the players lose faith.

Regardless of my earlier prediction, I have no expectations tonight.

Other than the Hawks losing.

Its just a matter of by how much, and what kind of fight they put up.

BS has got to stop giving away these early ticky tack fouls.

And called it 30 seconds after the actual foul.


This white-haired ref has it out for Iowa. Can't remember the exact name right now.
