Bob probably did tell Brands to cut ties (a guess) because when slumbob says jump brands asks how high? They probably should have never let the slum lord takeover the program. This sounds silly but I was best friends with their dad in our Little League days. Their dad was a good high school athlete too, and an incredible golfer.

I always thought it was odd that their dad was a good basketball player and he ended up with two world level wrestlers. Then, years later, my son ended up having a really good basketball career. The kids find their own path.
He probably thought it was a fair trade for a fresh jawbone.
At least back then it was easier to play more than one sport. I think Dad Hidlay also played high school football (Running Back).
