Am I missing something fun inside joke? You bringing Henckel's dad with you?
Pretty sure it's nothing more than Henckel's dad being a really big dude.Am I missing something fun inside joke?
“He don’t like tough wrestling”.My theory is that Endene left just in time before he got worse at wrestling.
Few funny quotes on the Iowa Board:“He don’t like tough wrestling”.
Make those last three sentences make sense. What sort of a choice is there?Brands on how he views the test of facing Penn State:
"You're going to have to go to stay on the mat with them. You're going to have to score. And, you're going to have to score again and again to stay on the mat with them. And so this isn't coming down to whether this is going to be like normal, because there's nothing normal about this. And the thing is, we don't have normal guys in our room. So there is a choice. There is a choice here."
I'm lost.Brands on how he views the test of facing Penn State:

It is both 100 percent what he said and also confusing to follow. But I think it simply translates to: His guys are either going to decide to attack and go at their opponent for seven minutes or they'll let the action be dictated to them and be forced to deal with the results of making that choice.I'm lost.
No matter how you feel about him as a coach, one thing is for certain, the sport will miss Tom Brands when he's done.It is both 100 percent what he said and also confusing to follow. But I think it simply translates to: His guys are either going to decide to attack and go at their opponent for seven minutes or they'll let the action be dictated to them and be forced to deal with the results of making that choice.
I would love to see Jason on the PSU staff, soon.Nolf, I think, will be a great coach if he ever decides to go that route. His creativity and ingenuity along with his incredible work ethic, devotion, and leadership will serve him VERY well. I hope that's not in an opposing teams corner.
Don't see the coaching staff changing unless Nick Lee wants to move onto new ventures (outside of wrestling) He was basically the first person Cael had in mind to add to the staff when DT took the Oklahoma State job (and everyone knew Jimmy Kennedy was going there) They saw something in him and he has exceeded every expectation so far.I would love to see Jason on the PSU staff, soon.
Ahhh. Makes sense. Thank you for translating that!It is both 100 percent what he said and also confusing to follow. But I think it simply translates to: His guys are either going to decide to attack and go at their opponent for seven minutes or they'll let the action be dictated to them and be forced to deal with the results of making that choice.
I like the one where Angelo bumps up to 197 and doesn’t get taken down by Barr. Man, I’d love to see that. One of our most active wrestlers, at the top of his game right now, taking down and letting up Angelo.Few funny quotes on the Iowa Board:
"Who else took the money and ran?"
"Bailey just needs to do the running at this point"
"Brands when he signed his extension"
Gold, Jerry, gold.Few funny quotes on the Iowa Board:

This guy speaks Brands. It is both 100 percent what he said and also confusing to follow. But I think it simply translates to: His guys are either going to decide to attack and go at their opponent for seven minutes or they'll let the action be dictated to them and be forced to deal with the results of making that choice.
Am I the only person in America that thinks the longer that guy is involved with program the worse they get? Or am I just the only one that has said it?I remember on the old board, when Bob declared Iowa would contend for the title this year in the offseason said something to the tune of "Remember Mo Endene"
Oh I will, I probably won't ever forget
I started trolling Hawk fans years ago that Bob owns Tom. I use to just say it to get under people's skin. Now....not so much.As a long time supporter of wrestling in Iowa, I question who is really running the show in Iowa City. The Head Coach or Bob Nicolls? Right now, it's a trainwreck in Iowa City. And I am happy to be called an idiot with this statement but I do not recall the state of affairs being this bad at the end of the Zalesky era. Talent lacking with Zalesky? Sure. However, I do not recall injuries, lack of offense and effort, and broken relationships with alumni. And those reasons are the tip of the iceberg.
And that's just from one post by Weh8statehawk. (OK, maybe not lines 2 or 7.)Great example of what the internet actually is…. This news is only a few hours old and I’ve already read Endene:
- took the NIL $$$ and then quit
- never got his NIL $$$
- failed out grade wise
- was injured
- popped for steroids
- never liked it at Iowa and never fit in
- wanted to just spend time with his family
Yup. When Henckel was being interviewed by Marcus and Connor, it was talked about what a giant of a man he is.Pretty sure it's nothing more than Henckel's dad being a really big dude.
Ayala I think has a case of HEW that is being exacerbated when he see what is at his weight class now and realizing 2 years ago, he just had to beat Richie Figs to win a title.Am I the only person in America that thinks the longer that guy is involved with program the worse they get? Or am I just the only one that has said it?
Btw, I made a comment last week's about Drake Ayala looking like **** and that he's pissed learning Kennedy finally got a cut of the NIL and he didn't get his. I said it kinda tongue in cheek but the more I think about it, as a team Bob and Tom could turn anything into a **** show...
Is this like that commercial where Emmett Smith has a translator as he dances and talks? It is both 100 percent what he said and also confusing to follow. But I think it simply translates to: His guys are either going to decide to attack and go at their opponent for seven minutes or they'll let the action be dictated to them and be forced to deal with the results of making that choice.
As I said, the Nicolls fiasco is the tip of the iceberg. I'm actually glad I am at a conference all day Friday in the PNW to avoid watching the dual in real time. If anything, I hope it shows how badly change is needed. As proud as I am as a fan of the Cyclones and the progress made with the program, I'm embarrassed watching the Hawkeyes and what has happened the last three years.I started trolling Hawk fans years ago that Bob owns Tom. I use to just say it to get under people's skin. Now....not so much.
It’s his second. Poznanski last year, too.Josh Barr literally made a guy quit the sport.
Happy to text you live updates of the dual while in progressAs I said, the Nicolls fiasco is the tip of the iceberg. I can totally picture and hear him saying it exactly like that as well.It is both 100 percent what he said and also confusing to follow. But I think it simply translates to: His guys are either going to decide to attack and go at their opponent for seven minutes or they'll let the action be dictated to them and be forced to deal with the results of making that choice.
To be fair, the "popped for steroids" post was from Lisa Morales.Great example of what the internet actually is…. This news is only a few hours old and I’ve already read Endene:

I first saw it in X, actually. To be fair, the "popped for steroids" post was from Lisa Morales.
It has to be demoralizing for him to know he is .500 in mid January, and he hasn’t even wrestled a bunch of guys who can also (potentially) beat him at the weight class.Ayala I think has a case of HEW that is being exacerbated when he see what is at his weight class now and realizing 2 years ago, he just had to beat Richie Figs to win a title.
He’s 4-4 and 3 of his next 4 matches are against Blaze, Van Dee, and Davino. He could realistically head into February 5-7 on the season. It has to be demoralizing for him to know he is .500 in mid January, and he hasn’t even wrestled a bunch of guys who can also (potentially) beat him at the weight class.
Where are you at in the PNW? If you’re anywhere near Bonney Lake, go to the BLT (Bonney Lake Tavern) and ask them to turn one of the TVs to BTN. You’ll find the food there is pretty good and the waitresses aren’t so bad to look at either. As I said, the Nicolls fiasco is the tip of the iceberg.
