What if we lose a few and Illinois State grabs our spot

Want some more irony? If NU makes the NCAA, Rutgers takes the Cats place as the Power Conference team with the longest drought of not making the NCAA tournament.....

I was hoping this thread was going to be about that Nigel Hayes dunk against Maryland to put UW up 11 with like 10 seconds left...talk about a coaching staff that can dish it but can't take it. Babies.

Speaking of irony, how about Wisconsin just dunking after beating a press to go up by 11 with 15 seconds left? Will the assistant coaches chastise their own player as they did to our coaching staff?

I saw that and immediately started laughing. Krabbenhoft can suck an egg.

I love how Collins' class handled the situation last Sunday, but I'm not sure I would want to emulate everything that program does...

How dare they?

In our win, there was audible booing from Wisky fans after our dunk. But otherwise most Wisky fans didn't express any problem with it.

Collins spent a lot of time talking with Krabbenhoft, but it seemed to me that Gard was the one with his panties in a bunch, not Krabbenhoft.

Krabbenhoft looked quite agitated during his convo with Collins. Also was a bit snarky in his post game interview.

It's pretty damn hypocritical of the Wisconsin staff to do what they did to CC considering their team regularly throws down meaningless dunks in garbage time (which is cool if the other team presses). Hayes' slam was not out of character for the Badgers. Gard and Co, you wanna get pissed at Collins? Fine, but don't do the exact same thing just seven days later. Be consistent.

I generally like Wisconsin fans. No complaints with them.

Saw that. Thought the exact same thing!

Speaking of ISU, they have the most bizarre alternate uniforms today....they are doing their best Globetrotter imitations by wearing shorts with alternating red and white vertical stripes. On ESPNU right now.

Why do we get preoccupied with this sort of baloney when the important aspect of the Wisky win over MD is that they will probably remain in the top 10, thereby further embellishing our win in Madison.

And our impending win against Michigan when we beat them.

Why do you care what other people care about?

Because it misses the point regarding the importance of the Wisconsin win. If it pleases you to ruminate about the Sanjay and Nigel dunks, so be it. I'm more interested in whether the Wisky win increased our chances of making the Tournament, which I believe it did.

Or you could say that the MD loss hurt us because they might fall out of the top 25 and the fact that they whupped us up and down the court doesn't start to look so good. Largely these exercises tend to be circular. Fact of the matter is that going the tournament is entirely in our hands and we don't have to particularly care what happens elsewhere as long as we pick up a couple of more wins.

Now you're on the right track, and no longer worrying about last second dunks by Sanjay and Nigel. Mission accomplished!

Didn't we disrespect Wisconsin in their gym? Hayes was just doing it for the fans. NU was jerks to the ENTIRE STATE OF WISCONSIN.

(Note: I do not mean this. But I bet the Badger staff can justify it, if pressed!)

I didn't see the WI vs MD game, but looking at the box score it must have been just a slow, brutal game.

48 fouls? WI shot 56.8% from the free throw line and still scored 21? MD shot 60.9 from its ft line and scored 14? Holy cow!

Trimble put 27 up on them btw, and its looks about as efficiently as vs. us, so there is that.

Not really. While a bad loss hurts, MD was not a bad loss. A good top 10 win helps a lot.
