Come on Donati do it! Don’t repeat the mistakes of the prior AD! Get rid of this pretender of an SEC coach! If necessary promote Shawn Elliott to interim coach! He will fire these boys up! Make a high profile hire now! Don’t wait and take another scrub!

We should never award a contract that we cannot afford to buy out if things go sideways.
That’s a big misconception of football fans. Like every state agency or organization, our budget is created and approved each year. So when they agreed to a buyout amount, it was in our budget. Same with every state owned school in the country. They cannot promise more than they can pay. It’s in the budget. That means they could pull the trigger anytime they want to. They have the funds.

Didn't Elliott lose to the Citadel after he took over for SOS? That is our back up plan? Just let Beamer finish the season.

I think Beamer finishes the season. But I think his job will come down to the Clemson game. Post season will be interesting. I think by now Beamer should be at a point where growing pains have worked themselves out and the team should be at a high point and much more competitive. Instead we are in panic mode firing assistant coaches, etc…

The expectations for Coaches at Carolina has always been just worry about beating Clemson and make it to a bowl here and there. Spurrier said it in several interviews that it’s all the University expected and that he refused to accept it and focused on beating top notch SEC teams. No other coach we had possessed the desire and/or ability to compete like that.

That's not how a coaches salary is set up. Beamer gets a base salary which is paid by the state along with benefits like any other state employee. I believe the base is $2.5 million. The rest ($5.6 million or so) comes from outside sources and it is NOT a state budget item. Neither is the buyout part. The school has to come up with that not the State. That is where it gets sticky.

LOL too many bigger jobs available...LSU, PSU, Fl. Even Ark, Ok St, UCLA, Stanford are as good or better than this shitshow. Probably throw FSU in the mix in 3 weeks.

No. It's not in the budget to pay two head coaches at the same time ever.

No, that excuse holds no water.

We are not shopping for the same caliber of coach as most of those programs.
