Is Briles using us?

I still think he is coming. I dont base this on any super secret knowledge.
I mentioned in another thread, the TCU 247 board has insiders posts. You cant read them, but you can see the titles. On Friday, a post was "Briles announcement", followed quickly by another thread "New OC candidates".
Granted, its a message board, but they've been assuming its a done deal since friday. How much weight do you put on message board insiders though.
So help me, if we end up with Furry after this.

Beamer is looking hard for an OC. But looking isn’t getting. I do think he’ll go outside the current staff. Let’s see how it plays out.
Time will tell. Another day or two without concrete news and I'd imagine Shane's moving to plan B.
As I've said before, word travels around the coaching fraternity. Yes, he could be playing us, never intending to come here. TCU wants him gone. Is anyone else wanting Briles? If so, who is our competition?
Maybe Dabo will hire one of his boys. He says they are better coaches than he is.
So glad answer was no, my past experiences of our hiring was haunting my thoughts.
Yeah…still waiting on something to say this is done. So far it’s still words like sources and expected. Don’t trust those.

Yeah but in the same type of language that lacks certainty. There was a point in this cycle where Alex Golesh to Arkansas was a done deal. Now he’s Auburn’s coach.
Golesh to Arkansas was never reported as done (that I can recall). Just that it seemed likely.
Kinda like this Briles thing, but not to the same extent, there was enough chatter that it seemed real. Practically all outlets expect Briles to be named but we’re re still short of it being said definitively. Just not ready to react to anything that isn’t solid yet
Nope, this is all on our BOT. From what I have heard, Briles and Beamer are waiting to sign the papers but the BOT can't be bothered with doing anything in a hurry.
The deal is done just waiting on approval. Wouldn’t have taken it this far if he was planning to stay at TCU
Waiting on BOT get their Christmas shopping done and whatever else they deem more important in their lives.....
I don't know if the is doing that, but if he is not coming here, then I see no reason to retain Beamer. No serious OC is coming here when the coach is on the hot seat.
