I've seen multiple threads lately. "Is this a big game for Love?" "Jones should spy Jackson.".....etc.....it's like fans are looking for 1 guy to answer the Jackson question. It doesn't work that way. If it were just 1-2 guys responsible for stopping Jackson more teams would've done it already this yr. It's gonna take a very disciplined team effort to get it done.
And frankly we don't have the veteran/experienced personnel to stop Jackson consistently. I think it is imperative that our offense score consistently....preferably with longer rushing drives......and just pray that our defense stops them just enough.

Love KD but he still hasn't learned to not play the fakes. But he will.
I don't care where Kash is from, eastern KY or Siberia...this would have been the year for him to cut his teeth.

An above poster nailed it. You just can't keep him contained on the inside (he will slip out of that), you have to apply pressure and push him backwards at the same time (close the net). We don't have the personnel for that. Our DE's are too slows. Jones is great but he over pursues and you can't do that to Jackson. Also our secondary hasn't proven they are good open field tacklers. Our only chance is to pack it in and try like hell to make Jackson a passing QB while eating as much clock on offense as possible. If we apply pressure and miss the score will get ran up.
There's nobody really that's going to stop Jackson. We need to accept that. What we need is to do what Houston did. Score points ourselves, possess the ball and not let Jackson put up historic numbers. I can live 100 yards rushing. If we pull the crap we did last year and let him go for 200+ yards rushing then we might as well not show up. You don't have to stop him just keep him to reasonable numbers.
Very disappointed in Love. I really wanted him out of HS and was not happy to see him go to Nebraska. When I heard he was transferring here I was pumped. Boy what a let down. I had high hopes for he and Elam this year. Needless to say I choked on my Kook Aid after week one.
